I actually just moved out of Elmhurst Village about 3 months ago, and I am now living in a different apartment community (Which will remain annonymous!) All I can say is I wish I was back at Elmhurst!! I am truley miserable at my new complex and I never relaized how good I had it. I actually had to move out at the end of my Lease due to financial reasons, lost my job. I decided to write my comments on Elmhurst because I beleive that people usually only write the bad experiences they have and never give credit to the good ones.
I must admit that it is an apartment and you will here the plumbing! No apartment complex will ever be that quiet that you won't here something every now and then. If you are an extremely ---- person about noise, then you need to get a house. You'll be happy nowhere, but for the most part I never really could here my neighbors.
There is a really good variety of people living in the community. I have met students, that are actually well behaved, people who are building homes, singles, and yes, even the elderly.
The office staff actually cares. Every time I paid rent or even picked up a package, they always asked me how I was doing. The place I live in now, doesn't even know my name! It makes you feel good when someone acknowledges you and doesn't make you feel like just another paycheck.
Mainteance is well handled. I had never had anything go past 24hrs before it was fixed. Like I said, I moved into another complex 3 months ago and I am still waiting for my dishwasher to work! I had one incident that Elmhurst had to order a part for my disposal, but they actually left me a note to let me know what was going on and called me when it came in!
They have a heated pool and I loved their fitness room. They actually have free weights. I am a fitness buff!
Well, I just thought I would give credit where credit is do. I guess you don't realize how good you have it unless you move into a hell hole like i live in now!
I would highly recommend Elmhurst Village.
