I just moved out of Elmhurst to another city...but I was generally pleased with the apartment. The grounds are nice, the pool's beautiful and the apartments are clean and spacious. The walls, however, are extremely thin. I could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in my building...especially from my upstairs neighbors who stayed up until 5am EVERY DAY. Lots of college kids (which was nice for my roommates and I) but NO parking. The office staff was rountinely rude and our water bill was sky high. I liked my year there but I probably wouldn't go back. You can find better places for the kind of money you will be spending.

Things they don't tell you when you before you sign the lease: The floors are wood and you hear EVERYTHING! The girls upstairs probably weight less than 110# but when they walk around they sound like elephants. The bedroom furthest from the entry (and A?C unit) is difficult to cool. If you call to complain about noise (parties or animals for example), don't expect a callback. I cannot wait for my lease to expire!
