Where to begin' Our apt. is quite large 1800 sq. feet, everyone comments how it feels more like a house than apartment. It overlooks the small lake facing a nature preserve. If you are able to get something there you won't regret it! We originally moved into an apt. that faced the parking lot. I was quite nervous that it would be noisy but we never had a problem. We found out that there was an apt. with 400 sq. feet more with no waiting list, first come first served basis. The good and the bad would be as follows:
Bad: I found them to be quite pushy when we first arranged for a lease. (We were threatened that we would not be able to get the apt until bank verification and we risked losing the apt. We were advised to push the bank to send a fax.) We pushed back by both telling them to rent the apt if they couldn't wait and making a formal complaint letter to management) Note: I received a personal apology letter from the manager to make amends. From there everything was extremely positive and we have never had a problem with anything since!
Good: The great mix of people living here. There is no one real dominant type. Families with children, retirees, empty nesters, university students and working couples. (At least 4 police/sheriffs officers living here.) The grounds are very well maintained, any and I mean any problems (new florescent lightbulb for kitchen, etc) are quickly solved with no issue, free up to date movies to borrow, free gas grill for use at the pool, free coffee served in reception and free pest control as well as daily garbage pick up at your door.
As with any apartment, living on top of people you can hear them on occasion. You can also have a random party at the pool. All of these are part and parcel of apt. living. I enjoy living here and if I have to move due to job relocation, I will miss being here.
