Ups and Downs

The complex had its ups and downs, just like anywhere else in the UCF housing area. I live in a 4/4 and overall didn't think my experience at the complex was all that bad.

I always felt safe in the complex, I rarely heard of any sorts of disturbances going on. Police presence can usually be found patrolling the parking lots at night, which keeps crime down and out-of-control parties from spilling into the hallways. I lived on the top floor so I am not the best source on noise from neighbors above, but I can say that I never had problems with noisy neighbors. I did see a big party on the first floor of my building one night and I couldn't hear their noise when I reached my room on the third floor. Those that do choose to hold parties usually won't have any problems as long as the noise is kept under control and everyone stays inside the apartment.

Parking is readily available for residents, especially during the daytime hours, late at night it becomes full but I never had to park across the complex or anything like that. Guest parking also had plenty of room. Towing services did come by late at night each night and towed those without a permit so beware of that. Shuttle service was always consistent on arrival times, I used the service heavily. Great place to live if your a UCF Football fan, very short walk to the stadium. 2 pools, beach volleyball, a cafe to have quiet study and an entertainment center were all part of the complex, although I rarely visited any of these amenities.

Downside was our A/C unit was constantly on the fritz, broke down multiple times and maintenance usually took 1-2 days to "fix" the problem, which obviously never was truly repaired. We made every effort to keep our energy bill down each month but were always hit with overages, small around 4-10 a month but always had them. Cable reception in every room had clarity issues on a few channels (CBS, MTV, FX from what I can remember). My ethernet connection was not well placed in my room and I had to run a cord all the way across my room. The showers were ok but ran out of hot water between 10-15 minutes. I paid a $250 non-refundable move-in fee which was not explained to me as non-refundable, but I suppose I'm at least partially to blame for not reading the fine print.
