I recently moved out of this apartment complex and i can't say that i am going to miss it. I was one of the first to recieve the new parking decals at riverwind, and my car was towed the next day because the night watch security guard didn't know that they changed the parking decals. From the moment on, i had a weird feeling about this place, but i was already locked in for a year. visitor parking was non-existant, so you have to caravan your friends to other complexes to park. The lighting isn't that good either for at night when your visitor has to go out there. The jacuzzi was broke for a long period of time while i was living there aswell, which sucks cause i work out and like to settle in the jacuzzi to relax. When i moved in, my place was a mess and the reason i was given was that they didn't want to move anything inside cause someone still lived there. Ah yes, that brings me to my roomates. I have nothing against them, i don't have a clue how we were put together. One is a writing major, another a engineering major who just joined a fraternity, another is a baseball player, and finally a management major. The four of us were very much not alike, thus we never hung out and for the majority, stayed in out rooms the whole time. We just didn't have anything to click with each other and thats frustrating. When you are signing up at Riverwind, they tell you they have a system of putting you with the right roomates. The next thing i had a problem with was that alot of had access to my room, from the office people to the grounds crew. Not a comfortable feeling, especially when they don't tell you they've been in your room. The final thing is a personal matter in which they have treated me with my move out inspection. Three of their front office employee's came and inspected my room and common area. I was told the all i needed to do was dust the furniture and vaccuum, and i was good to go. Now i get my security deposit in the mail, and it says that i owe them in excess of 300 dollars for damages and repairs, as well as cleaning. At the top of the move out inspection says "This room is a huge mess!" This comes as a huge shock for me because i was under the impression the everything was good and all i had to pay for was minimal cleaning of the room and common area. I felt like this damaged my character somewhat. I am very dissapointed in Riverwind apartments and the last action sealed the deal. In my honest opinion, avoid the headache!
