Some annoyances, but ok overall

I'm amending my review, now that I'm moving out-of-state, to make it more useful.
I've always felt safe here, but I still keep my doors locked. The whole place is very well lit (which makes it tough to sleep sometimes since those lights are right outside our bedroom windows), but the shrubbery around the walkways sometimes gets quite overgrown before they get around to trimming it.
The maintenance staff is nice & gets to things quickly. However, the appliances are old. When we moved in, the ice maker didn't work. They came and fixed it, but the freezer still was funky. We finally just accepted it. The freezer only freezes on the bottom half, the top half keeps things kind of slushy...which is great for drinks & ice cream. The dishwasher has never really cleaned the dishes well, even with expensive detergents.
We pay about $150-200 a month for electricity in our 3/2 apartment. The apartment doesn't cool evenly. One bedroom is consistently 5-10 degrees hotter than the rest of the apartment. On hot days the ac struggles to keep it under 77.
The pool is kept reasonably clean.
First review.
We moved here 2 months ago. This weekend was Labor Day weekend. We brought the rent in on Tuesday the 4th (Monday being a legal holiday). Not only were we charged a $50 late fee, but they wouldn't take a check! We had to go cash a check at the bank and give them cash for the rent.
BUT NO! It gets better! They won't take CASH!!! My hubby had to go get money orders (took 2) to pay the rent. If I had the energy, I'd move!

Hello everyone, I am a former employee of the Vinings. I did not want to leave the property, but had to due to a relocation. Number one, the office staff will ALWAYS post several signs in advance around the office saying that the office will be closed for the holiday and to please remember that rent is still due by the 3rd. The lease, that every resident signs states that rent is due on the 3rd and late on the forth...no exceptions. Next also stated in the lease is that when rent is late we will only accept a money order or cashiers check, this is so we can garuantee the payment. Third, also in the signed lease, all late fees are stated. Forth, no of course they do not accept "CASH". If the office did there would be more money flowing through the office than a bank!! That is for the resident's security and the office's security as well. I have seen this staff work their tales off for these residents, and if the situation presented itself, I would move and work there again, no questions asked.
