I lived at the Palm Beach White House from July 2002 to January 2003 and found it acceptable. The previous reviewer obviously had a pretty bad experience and failed to be objective. The problem with this building is that it was built in the 1960's and it needs a lot of work. The property manager is jolly, helpful and caring. She is sincerely interested in the welfare of the tenants there and tries to be helpful. Unfortunatley, the building has been let go for a while and some of the people who live there are substandard. The things that drove me crazy were the loud neighbors and the poor quality upkeep in the public areas. I was embarrassed to bring over company. On the contrary, the location is excellent and it's near lots of interesting things to do. I didn't find the halls bad, nor did I find the apt. itself bad at all. In fact, the apt. was excellent. Nor did I find the street difficult to cross. The apts. are large and very bright. Every one has a large terrace with great views. Most of the people are very, very friendly. This place allows all sorts of funky, rugged individualists to afford a great place in a super location. The previous reviewer obviously had a bad time and somewhat blew things out of proportion. The pool area was excellent and hardly anyone ever uses it. If you're looking for a funky, loud, fun, anything goes kind of place, you will be right at home here. If you want a quiet, secure, anonymous, elegant Palm Beach residence, you probably won't like it. But for the space and amenities, the price can't be beat. Come on, check it out at least.
