Hi All! We moved to Sable Palm from Minnesota recently. We did not have the time or money to come to Florida ahead of time unfortunately so we had to pick a place online and basically hope it would turn out ok which was scary. So far we really love it here and are glad we picked this place. We love living on the canal and were initially worried since so many apartments were around that it might be noisy but it is amazingly quiet and peaceful. Its a beautiful complex..it really is. On our first day we needed a handle replaced on the sliding glass door and called the office--maintenance came pretty much right away--we were surprised by the quick response time and the maintenance people are real friendly. We only seen one "bug" so far and the Orkin guy came and sprayed--its free of charge and you call the office here to schedule it. This is Florida and I lived in the state several years ago and know that no matter how clean a person is around the house, it's Florida..your gonna see a bug or a whatever from time to time no matter where your at. We were a little dissappointed that there are no light fixtures in the bedrooms and living room-i've never seen that before. You can put in your own fan/light fixtures though. We were also dissappointed that we had to pay water/sewer--we didn't know we'd have to pay those particular utilities-we didn't find anything other than having to pay electric upon first inquiring about Sable Palm. The apartment/screened in porch and property though is great...the apartment I think as far as kitchen/liv room looks a little bigger online than in real life but it's still very very nice. Another downside is where we are located, we have to drive the trash to this outside compactor and push it down the chute--i don't particulary care to do that when paying this kind of money and its a new thing for me but again, you can't have everything, I guess. The office staff we've dealt with have been very responsive to our questions and overall its been a positive experience in talking with them. If your not familiar with this area and depending on where your from, it is VERY busy...we didn't think it would be this hectic but the upside to that is your only 7 miles from the beach and there is so much to do and your so close to it all. I would NOT recommond looking for work in Tampa however..the traffic is beyond CRAZY. I wanted a job there and once i got here and saw how nuts the traffic is to Tampa...NO WAY, i'd drive to that city. We have 4 birds and a dog in our apt and as far as the dog goes, its nice because they have "dog potty" places with bags/trash right there for pickup. Pool area/fitness area are terrific/beautiful...charcoal grills to BBQ and if you have a boat, you can use it on the canal and they have boat parking. We have a place in the apt to get a washer/dryer but we haven't purchased those yet so for now we use the laundry room on site which is 1.50 to wash, 1.50 to dry. Another thing if your ground floor here: we were a bit dissappointed that there is no small yard outside the screened porch..there are bushes so you can't place anything outside off the screen porch and there is no door that comes off the screen porch. We are very happy with the bedrooms/baths..very nice sized and the walk in closets are huge..love that. All in all were very very happy with the apartment and glad we chose it aside from few dissappointments. I think if i had to do it over again, we might choose a less expensive place but we knew the price when we agreed to live here except for the water/sewer--didn't realize we'd have to pay that bill.
