Thankfully, our lease was only for six months and is just about up. When we moved in, our walls had not been repainted or touched up after the last tennant- they remain very dirty and scuffed up. In nearly every room, either maintenence or the previous tennant attempted to patch numerous holes using joint compound, then they never sanded it down, so there are just globs of plaster with finger marks all throughout the house. The carpet was and remains in horrible shape- very dirty looking. In the first month that we lived here, we filed a few maintence requests since several things were never fixed or finished before we moved in. After two and a half weeks and more than two phone calls, maintenence finally came by to fix the stuff. The painter came by to take care of the patches on the walls, however it was at the end of the day and he clearly was ready to go home, so they were barely sanded and then painted over (and still are very obvious and tacky, and look exactly how they did before). Three months into our stay, we were woken up by helicopters and police cars. Neighbor kid had been shot outside our window, we now have a bullet hole in our bumper that will always remind us of our stay here. Good thing the spray of bullets missed our two year old's window! And I should add that I'm not referring to the previous murder that is mentioned in some of the other reviews- that was before we moved in. Apparently bullets and murder/attempted murder are becomming a regular thing here. Valet trash is a joke- pay a required additional $30 a month to have a truck drop off about 5-10 unsupervised 13 and 14 year olds to your building every night at 9:30. Then when they get bored while waiting for the trash truck, they yell and scream and act obnoxious to each other from one building to the other, play tag, hide and seek, etc. When they have accidents and drop the trash, they don't bother to pick it up. One week, they dropped a bag of cat litter right at the front entrance to the stairs for our apartment. No one would clean it up, so every time anyone entered or left our building, we basically had to walk over nasty smelling cat feces just to get in or out. The amenities are a joke. The toddler room is so trashed that it is unusable. The playgrounds are not in good, safe condition. The main playrground is actually dangerous for children five and under - easy to get a head inury from the slide. Parking is bad. There are a lot of really trashy people that live here. The gate is a joke, since it doesn't even work to keep people that don't have any business being here out. All and all, the worst place we've ever lived. And when you're touring this place, be sure to note that the beautiful floral landscaping ends right in front of the doors to the models, and that the mulch ends as soon as you turn the corner from the model. What a joke. Oh- and these apartments are also not very energy efficient.
Update 3/06: I will note that I have noticed improvement. The pool is being kept up more frequently (though could stand to be cleaned perhaps one more day a week because of the sand). I have noticed that some of the staff has changed (one of the not-so-nice girls left or was let go), and of those that remain, I have seen more of an effort to be friendly and outgoing toward the residents (which does mean a lot to tennants). The office has also made a few attempts to repair the front gate- it is currently broken, but the reason that it is broken is because non-tennants were continuing to tailgate in and were then hit by the gate arm, causing it to bend and break. It does seem as though they are trying harder.
