We lived there for a little over a year and the place was great! I have rented in many different apartment communities all over the U.S. and, trust me, Falls of Pembroke is head and shoulders above the rest. Nothing will be perfect in any community you move into- break ins happen EVERYWHERE, maintenance issues occur EVERYWHERE, residents who don't follow the rules and make the community worse are EVERYWHERE. You can't expect to live in a place where there are several hundred apartments and a few thousand people and not have any issues. I'll admit that the maintenance wasn't always the best, but my overall experience was wonderful. It's a gorgeous community that provides plenty to do for the residents.

I read some of the negative reviews, and if those people were unhappy at Falls of Pembroke, they will be unhappy at any apartment community that you move to for one reason or another.

I lived at the Falls of Pembroke for almost two years. Any time we had a maintenance issue we had to call at least 3 times. Most of our issues were only ever temporarily fixed. For example, our AC unit was leaking onto the water heater causing a short. Not only is this a fire hazard, but we had no hot water for several days. This happens on 5 separate occasions while we were there. Each time they replaced the thermostat on the water heater rather than fixing the AC unit. Finally they wrapped the water heater in a plastic garbage bag. This was the final solution. The AC kept leaking and soaked the floor and carpet and they never fixed it. Our screens were never fixed though they were detached from the frames. Our sliding door didn't open for almost three months, and the maintenance personnel were inexperienced and often didn't know what they needed to fix. It is unreasonable to say that we will be unhappy anywhere because we didn't like Falls of Pembroke. This is a lovely community, but it is horribly maintained. I would not live here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Shows how much you know. I was miserable at the Falls (left comments here - see my list from A to Z) and I am so thrilled with my new apartment. Things still go wrong over here, but I get a reasonable response with every situation. Oh and some other perks. I pay less here for a 3 bedroom with a garage than I did at the Falls for a 1 bedroom. I have 1500 sqft under air conditioning and my electric bill is half of what it was at the Falls. I also hae a pool with CLEAR water in it and many other perks that are well maintained. I would never ever even consider moving back to the Falls nor would I recommend it to anyone...EVER! In closing: To you who thinks you know everyhting...It is better to keep your mouth shut and thought a fool than to open it up and remove all doubt! You must not mind living in your own crap~
