I have been at Ashley Club for about 3 months now. I had friends who had lived here pre-Ivan and had no problems... however, I am not happy. When I moved in, my apartment reeked of cigarrette smoke, the kitche facet did not work, the microwave did not work, it was not painted, my bathroom sink is scratched to hell, everything was filthy. Some of this has been fixed. Most things have not. (I have taken pictures and kept a log). The leasing office is useless in getting anything accomplished. They mostly give excuses like being on a budget (which is not an adequate excuse for the prices they charge). The worst problem is the pet waste - I can't leave or go to my apartment w/o smelling dog ----. And my boyfriend has stepped in it. Yuk! It is really embarrassing. I wish I had taken more time and found a different place to live.
UPDATE: So I have been here for 6 months now, and cannot wait for my lease to run out. I am completely dissapointed that I didn't do better research before signing a year lease. The dog-crap problem comes and goes (much like the tenants). There have been a few more instances of stepping in dog poo and then dragging it up into the apartment. Which may be why the carpets do smell like cat piss (please note that I don't have a cat). Everything in the apartment is CHEAP. The shower water goes from freezing to scalding, without even touching the knob. My oven is going to start a fire one of these days - it heats unevenly, and the surface of the oven heats which is touching the cheap countertops. Intelligently designed. And now that its cold out, I love the way the cold wind whistles underneath my doors, and I can feel a chilly breeze inside my apartment. Cozy. My apartment still reaks of cigarette smoke and I spend about $40/month on air freshners that don't really help.
As for the criteria rated below: Parking is ample, as in there are enough spaces... as for the size of the spaces, that part is lacking. My boyfriends truck was hit in the parking lot, and w/ the high-class residents here of course that person didn't leave his information. If you drive anything larger than a full sized car, you may want to reconsider which vacant apartment you let them stick you with.
These apartments were built cheap and are very noisy. I can hear one my neighbors snore at night, while I can hear the other neighbor's television... also there is someone who thinks its cute to play stereo w/ load base late at night.
The grounds look nice in front, but if you live in the back of the apartment, they are anything but desireable.
As far as safety, it is generally safe. However, the doors are cheap, and anyone could break in if they wanted to. I haven't tried, but I would imagine that not much more than a credit card would be needed.
Maintenance does "fix" the problems quickly, but as stated in other opinions, it is usually fixed cheaply, quickly and sometimes incorrectly. So if you're the least bit handy you may want to just fix whatever yourself.
Overall, I would never recommend this complex to anyone. I intend to move out the day my lease ends... into a house. This experience has completely ruined apartment and condo living for me. And I will be able to afford a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house for what I am paying for a run-down 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. My only advice is to think twice and RUN.

Obviously... you are 'intelligent' and competent enough to be making these claims; you can't even work the spell-check on your computer. I have never had a problem with these apartments that I wouldn't expect from apartment living. You have neighbors, they can be loud... it happens. Sometimes there are things that are not fixed to your standards... you don't own the property and you probably don't understand the true cost of 'fixing-up' over 200 apartments. As for the staff, they seem nice to me. Apparently a new management company recently took over... maybe they will be to your liking. In short, don't write comments on here just for the sake of complaining... especially if you can't spell - you sound (and write) like an idiot.
