If any of you have had or are having problems with management (i.e., our wonderful --- ------) her supervisor at JIK's email is -------- ---------, c---------@kislak.com. Ms. --------- is completely unaware of what goes on at our complex as she is located in Texas, and claims to have not been advised of the run-down conditions of the units and the property. If you have any complaints or concerns, I encourage you to shoot her an email and let her know what your experience has been.

Also, if any of you signed a lease over 4 months ago, you will remember the BBB sticker being in the window, which they are not a member and have not been for SEVERAL years. However, I encourage you to file complaints so that this company understands that it is going to lose not only current residents, but future residents as well. I encourage you to file complaints with the BBB, the Florida Attorney General, the FTC, and anything else you can come up with. If you read the Florida Landlord/Tenant Statutes, you will realize how harsh your lease is and how many of the clauses are either unconscionable or even plain illegal.

So far Ashley Club has harrassed me and treated me rudely because I expect a clean apartment. I don't like that cigarette smoke filters into my apartment. I don't like to step in dog ---- on my way to and from my apartment (and yes, apparently some dogs do poo on the sidewalk.) And I fought hard to get them to agree to release me from my lease. Now they are bribing me for more money, after they had already agreed in writing to release me from my lease, or they have threatened to send me to collections for the remainder of the lease amount. I am considering filing a small claims against them for harassment, bribery, retaliation, medical bills, emotional distress, breach of contract (failing to provide a safe, healthful living environment is breach of landlord duties), ruined furniture, and anything else I can think of... If anyone else is having the same problems and wants to piggy-back on my lawsuit, please contact me. The more the merrier.

Also, please don't think that I am a complainer or anything like that; I work in a law office and I see people who sue for the sake of suing and I assure you that I am not that person. This is the first apartment complex where I have ever had issues like this. And because of my experience here, I will NEVER live in another apartment setting. This has been the worst experience of my life.
