We have found Carriage Hills to be a nice apt. complex--rent is a little high, but you get what you pay for. The property manager Shelly is very friendly and helpful--things have improved since she became the property manager. She is definitely the person to deal with since she gets things done. As far as the previous review on non-residents in the pool area, there is now a resident in the pool area full time (during pool hours)which eliminates the riff raff.
Wish there were W/D connections in every unit. Oh. One of the maintenance men seems to know TOO much about the residents' personal information (not sure how/where he gets this info.). We call him the "dirty old man." We have never had any problems with vandalism, but you would be wise to (as with anywhere) stay alert and use common sense regarding security precautions. We are glad that we now have a police officer now who lives on the property. Good luck finding the right apt. for you.
