Do not rent from Crystal Lakes if you: 1) Have a job and actually work for a living. 2) Have a family and care about their emotional health and well-being. 3) Take pride in your surroundings and maintain a neat living space. 4) Expect to be treated with respect and honesty by management.

If you fall into any of the above, you will be upset with this apartment complex because: 1) The walls/floors are incredibly thin. I can hear my neighbors across the hall when they speak in normal conversational voices. 2) Crystal Lake's management group (GMG) does not run even a simple credit check on its prospective renters. In 4 months I've had three different tenants above me that have been evicted due to their inability to pay the modest rent. The tenants have not-so-coincidentally been partiers and unfairly noisy. 3) The groundskeeping/maint. staff is outright unprofessional. They are rude and intrusive; entering apartments without prior notice. 4) The management staff appears amicable, but they change rates and promotions on a whim. They will give you a quick answer/solution to an issue, but there is no follow through. 5) I witnessed illegal activity (drug deals, forceful solicitation, domestic violence) on so many occassions that informing the police and managements was not practical.

My wife and I are both young professionals. We work hard to pay our rent on time and take care of our surroundings. Our time at Crystal Lakes was absolutely miserable.
