I recently moved out of Fairfield Lakes after living there for over a year. I highly recommend this complex. It is close to Corey Station and NAS, about a 15-minute drive to NAS. True its not as close to base as Countrywood or Austinwood but it is closer to everything else especially if you have pilot friends who live north closer to Whiting Field. Its a care free place, only twice did I have to see the staff, both just prior to moving out, and even though they knew I was moving they went out of their way to help me.
Pros: helpful staff, close to base without being far from everything else, easy parking, better floor plans than any of my friends had elsewhere, walking distance to convenience store, liquor store, ice-cream shop, and a couple of fast food places, two Wal-Marts within a 5 minutes drive, grocery and video stores about 3 minutes away
Cons: The dumpsters were usually overflowing by the end of the weekend, the front gate can get annoying because instead of slowing people down they speed up to get through before it closes.
