I Really Liked It

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
My husband and I are a military couple that have lived in a few places while he's in training. So far, Pensacola was the most enjoyable environment because we had a great place to come "home" to-I use that term loosely bc we haven't been anywhere more than a year. It was very pet friendly. I have a medium sized dog, that I try to walk as often as possible, and the community is about 1/3 mile around, so it was perfect because I could walk her for a mile or 2 in the safety of a well lit and populated area morning, day or night. The commissary was less than 5 min. away, which really helped us with our budget, within 20 min. to all my favorite beach spots, and had the convenience of various types of stores right outside the gate. The leasing staff seems somewhat transient, but the manager has been there for a few years. She really helped us get settled. We viewed the apartment and were able to rent it the same day. The layouts were nice and I loved the high ceilings. When we asked about how many military people lived there they weren't very specific, just said that they had residents that were military along with other people in other job fields. Our experience was that it was extremely military friendly, so we recommended it to a few of our friends and got a discount on rent one month. The barbecue and pool were my favorite, especially bc our friends were our neighbors. It made hanging out pool-side even better. Also, no-one I knew had any problems moving out when they got orders. We just brought in a copy to tell the office and were out in 30 days.
We lived on the second floor, but that was a top floor on the end of our building so there weren't apartments above us. For that reason I can't really comment on that type of noise personally, but we became acquaintances with the neighbor below and were told you could here when I vacuumed but that was pretty much it. Parking was awesome and the car wash made it easy to not only clean the car but the dog, too. I remember when I first drove up I was really impressed with the landscaping. It kind of had a resort feel to it. I can't really think of anything negative to say about the complex as a whole. It was pricey compared to other apartments in that area, but with BAH it was worth it. I enjoyed living somewhere that when my in-laws visited I didn't have to hang my head. I had a great experience there and would definitely recommend it to military or anyone else.
