The appearence is nice. The Management is courteous. The only one duck pond is nice looking. The others are swampy. Found out too late that they draw the water for irrigation directly from the swampiest looking duck pond. The result is a strange rusty-oily build up on your car windows and some surfaces. The pond water has turned the sidewalks, and siding rusty too.
The maintenance staff at Stoddert couldn't troubleshoot their way out of a paper bag if posed with such a challenge. Our A/C died and it took them 4 days to get it working again. Our refrigerator stopped cooling and they swore up and down that my freezer being too packed was causing the problem. They rearranged our freezer three times. We even took everything out of the freezer to prove that it wasn't the problem. They still attacked the empty freezer. I finally got tired of throwing food away and tackled the problem myself. discovered a disconnected wire at the cold control. They never even looked. They were too busy rearranging. It took four days and three requests to get a new air filter for our A/C unit. The old filter was three months old. Towel bar in master bathroom has been hanging off the wall since we moved in. I guess the maintenance staff is too busy rearranging freezers to fix things. Our smoke alarms all went off one night at 11:30 pm. Maintenance claims this happens from time to time and it is not a problem.
The neighbors are noisy and the walls, floors, and ceilings are thin. The pool is nice. Fitness center weight equipment was nice but has been broken for about one month. Rules regarding adult supervision of childern are not enforced at the pool or the fitness center.
We had high expectations of Stoddert Place and they obliterated every single one.
