To save money I pretty much looked for the cheapest place I could find close to the base. This was it. If you are looking for a cheap roof over your head then this is just fine (doesn't bother me much).

However:
-The pool has been closed since I moved in last fall.
-The pond has trash and crap all around the edges. There has been a folding chair in the shallow part for at least 3 weeks now.
-You can't get the normal digital cable in the area. You have to get "Moonbeam" cable, which consistantly has 1-2 channels out, but no one ever answers the phone when you call them to repair it. Sometimes its ESPN, sometimes its CBS, TBS, etc. You never now until you sit down to watch the AFC championship game and it is a blank screen.
-We have had gaping holes in our drywall since shortly after the hurricane. They still haven't fixed them.
-Stuff breaks all the time (lights fixtures hanging by their wires from the ceiling, kitchen tiles don't stick to the floor, missing screens, closet door broken, window leaks, oven door needs coaxing to close all the way)
-Biggest speedbumps ever. Actually damaged my roommate's SUV.

Other than the Moonbeam thing, I don't really mind all this stuff since it is cheap ($699 for a 3 bedroom). If you are looking for a nice place for your family I would look elsewhere though.

My sister and I came up there to look for an apartment and we met a lady who showed us her apartment! We were so amazed on how crappy it all looked! I'm not saying her furniture or designs were crappy by all means but the holes in the walls the carpet missing in all rooms and the odor of mildew in her apartment was so sad! What kind of management runs this place?? I would like to know b/c I bet they would never allow their children to live in a mildew infested as well as bug infested place like that! don't get me wrong... I'm sure it was nice at one time....but what are we now? a year after the hurricane?? i think that your money in the bank has grown enough interest ...don't you? Time to fix up the place!
