going downhill even more

Well, I don't even know where to begin in regards to the complaints I have about this place. My husband and I have lived here for several years and will definitely be moving out the second our lease is up. When we first moved in, the place was up-kept very well, had nice office staff and maintenance team. That now has gone beyond downhill.
My most recent problem has been our dryer which maintenance has refused to fix. It's been starting to squeak over the last month or two and slowly getting worse (to the point where I know can not do laundry if my child is sleeping or I just try to run the dryer when we are not at home). I put in a request for it to be fixed and when they came to look at it, I was told the dryer was getting old so it would now squeak and I just needed to deal with that!'! It sounds like something just needed to be greased, which I told the maint guy. Oh well, guess I will have to hire my own dryer repair guy.
The garbage is another main concern. There is one dumpster/compactor for the whole complex. No one can ever seem to put their garbage actually in it though. Furniture, rotting garbage, etc is piled up outside the dumpster until it is finally picked up by the employees. Very unsanitary. It attracts bugs and animals too. The Health department has been unable to do anything about this since it is located on private property.
The speed limit through the complex is not enforced at all and stop signs might as well be nonexistent. I've almost been hit numerous times (car and on foot). I've even seen people actually get hit as well. People drive at high speeds, do not stop at stop signs, or crosswalks. Plus the employees do this as well. My husband was almost hit by one who blew through a stop sign the other day... It is NOT safe to walk outside with a child unless they are in a stroller.
The pool is extremely poorly maintained. When we go to the pool in the morning we have to pick up trash and beer bottles left from the previous nights parties. The employees do come through and straighten the chairs out though. That's apparently more important than trash pick-up. The pool is hardly clean. They can never seem to get the chlorine amount correct or maintain a level amount of water in the pool.
Noise has been another big issue since the majority of the complex is college students. It's basically like living back in a dorm again. If you have to file a noise complaint, don't bother as nothing is done about it. It's best to just call the cops yourself if a party gets too rowdy or out of hand.
The office staff is poorly trained. You will get a different answer from everyone. My husband and I can both go in at separate times even and ask the same staff member the same question and get a completely different answer each time. This did work to our benefit when moving into a larger unit since I was told we didn't have to pay a transfer fee :)

AMEN to that! The office staff is ridiculous! I literally stood and waited for 20 minutes for an AC filter one day, while they gossiped and chatted amongst themselves, KNOWING I was standing there. I usually speak up but I had the time to see how long it would actually take them. I can't wait to move!
