Yet another sub-par apartment complex

I was so excited to move here because on the outside and inside, these aprtments are GORGEOUS. I was lucky enough to get a brand new apartment that had never been lived in and I was psyched to move in! However, after being here a couple of weeks, I am wishing that I had kept looking and not "judged this book by it's cover". I have no complaints about my apartment itself, but the walls are VERY thin. You can hear everything in the apartments around you. I understand that is part of apartment life, but when your pictures on your walls fall off because of the stomping above you literally SHAKING the whole apartment, it's a bit ridiculous. I have made complaints about it with no return call from the management office. However, I am assuming that is because there is nothing that can be done about a cheaply constructed building. The parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. There are no speed bumps and no posted speed signs, so everyone treats it like an extension of the Daytona raceway. There are kids running around unattended and I fear that it's only a matter of time before one of them gets hurt and MAYBE then, the complex will think about enforcing a speed limit. I spoke to my neighbors who informed me that their apartment shakes when the people upstairs walk around too, so I know that it's not just my neighbor walking heavy. It's obviously an all around problem with these apartments.
I was willing to shell out a little extra money to live in such a nice place that I thought was an "upgrade" from my last place. But now I know that I am paying more money for nothing.
