Has changed managers a few times and the place gets worse with each one! I haven't ever even seen the new managers no matter what time I go by or call the office.

Tired of hauling my trash all the way to the pool to throw anything away. Tired of the pool smelling of trash all summer (that is when it's open). Equipment in the fitness center doesn't work, washers / dryers don't work, maintenance doesn't work, office staff doesn't work, cheesy plastic eggs hung in trees don't work.

I have already put down money on my next place and can not wait to move out of Southgate!

Since August 2008 when I first moved here, there has been only one manager: Margie, and I believe she's been there for a number of years. Personally, she has been awesome to me from day one. She seems to know everybody by name. Also, I'm not sure why the reviewer states they have to haul their trash "all the way to the pool", as there are quite a lot of dumpsters located all over the property. What I *have* noticed at the set of dumpsters nearest to my apartment is that most people seem to want to pile all their trash into one dumpster until it overflows instead of using the empty dumpster next to it! But that's not Margie's fault; it's the fault of the clueless, lazy residents who continue to do that. I haven't used either of the pools yet (there are actually two of them, in case you didn't know), so I don't know anything about either of them "smelling of trash". Nor have I used the fitness center. I belong to ProHealth Fitness, which is conveniently located less than 5 miles down the road from Southgate and which has state-of-the-art equipment (& very nice pools.) Lastly, I don't know whether or not it's true that the washers & dryers in the laundromat don't work, because I have a washer/dryer combo in my apartment that only costs $40 per month to rent. The one time I had a problem with it, maintenance showed up within a couple of hours to repair it. And when my heat didn't work in Jan. 2009, I left a voice mail for Margie and again, maintenance was there in less than an hour to fix it. Frankly, I have no idea what is the reference to the plastic eggs. ??! Maybe that was from last Easter?? Who knows. But what I *can* say is that my apt. at Southgate is one of the nicest & newest I've ever lived in. To be honest, it sounds like this reviewer is living in a completely different property.

This person obviously does not live at Southgate Apartments in South Rockledge. They say they have been here 1 year. There is only 1 person in the office, the manager, and she has been here as long as I have, 5 years. The apartments have 4 or 5 dumpster locations, so no one should be going to the pool to throw away trash. The pools, of which there are 2, are in good shape and the laundry, every time I use it, is always clean and comfortable. If a machine does not work, it will get fixed. The same maintenance staff have been at Southgate as long as I have. I have never had a problem getting anything worked on. Everything was done in a timely manner. As far as the eggs??, you must be liiving somewhere else, or just have a vendetta against the apartment community.
