Costly mistake

I had my house on the market and filled out the application for the apartment, to me the application fee is too high, and also since the deal fell through on my house they wouldnt give the deposit back, I wanted the apartment but couldnt take it because the woman changed her mind about buying, I think it very unfair of them to keep the deposit when it wasnt my fault, they made 375.00 off me for doing nothing.They said it was in their policy to keep it, bull.
