I lived at Regatta Shores for two years until this past month when we moved. We went away on vacation and were not even gone thirty hours, when our friend who cat sitting, called us and told us we were robbed. Yep, everything. Over $13,000 worth of our belongings! We lived on the third floor, facing the woods, and our door was crow-barred open and not ONE neighbor heard or saw anything. It wasn't odd to anyone that people where taking numerous trips with televisions, gaming stations, clothes, jewelry, laundry baskets and bags of goods. First warning, you cannot trust the neighbors at Regatta Shores.

Second warning, you cannot trust management. We were told by management that they would send out word that we were broken into to allow people to come forward anonomously, and it was never done. When I went to the front office to try and talk to management, I was told my Mark that I had an attitude and could not wait for me to leave. He simply stated, "I don't know what's going on, what do you want me to do'"...really'' Mind you, we flew home from our vacation immediately and missed my brother's high school graduation.

We were back to Regatta Shores three days before we were able to talk to management and given promises that were broken. Not one person came to fix our crow-barred door or inspect the damage in our apartment; mind you the door was so damaged that you could see outside from inside. No letter was ever sent and we never received our full deposit (minus our water bills) as promised.

When I talked to the police department about Regatta Shores, they said it had to be someone from the property or someone who knew someone because how would someone know to come in from outside and go the back third floor apartment. Mind you, the night we were robbed, the gate was open as it had been previously for a long period of time, so it was easily accessible. The police also said that it was nothing new that we got robbed, as it happens at Regatta Shores all the time. We moved within a week to an apartment complex that the police suggested, was nicer, a better location, and cheaper.

Beware. The people in the front office are nice and friendly, but they just say what they need to appease you at the time and get you out. They truly have no real care or concern for their residents. It is a shame and has great potential because when I moved into Regatta Shores, two years ago, it was not like that. Since my robbery, a truck has been stolen, someone has been assulted, and a car was broken into. Mind you this has all happened since the end of June.

I write this since Regatta Shores refuses to let it residents know there was a major burgerly, someone should. What if someone would have told us and we could have taken other precautions when we had left town' I would hate for you to be the next victim. I wish it upon no one and feel the residents, and future residents, have the right to know and be informed.

That is horrible. As a former resident, I'm glad to hear you got out of there, but I'm also terribly sorry about the theft. I hope you eventually make some headway on who it was.

I lived at Regatta Shores from 2004-2006 - most of the time living in a construction zone. I thought perhaps after the construction was over the complex *might* improve, but after reading these reviews, I see it has gotten even worse. Due to the construction, I NEVER had use of my screened in balcony (the major reason I chose Regatta Shores). Additionally, the sliding glass door to my living room and bedroom were locked from the outside due to "safety concerns." The kitchen window does not open. My A/C went out constantly so I literally lived in a steam box much of the time. Don has to be the worst maintenance man I have ever met in my 12 years of renting in various complexes. He went so far as to curse me out then hang up on me when I had an after-hours emergency maintenance issue. I wonder how this complex continues to exist, but then, as another reviewer said, they accept anyone. I had some fairly dubious neighbors while I lived there. One left a bed box spring outside their apartment for over a month. I am so sorry to hear what happened to you but glad you found a better place. I moved to another town within Central Florida and live in a complex that is night and day from Regatta Shores. I can't say enough good things about where I live now. Anyone considering living in the Sanford area, I STRONGLY urge you to NOT consider Regatta Shores.

I had appartment in Regatta Shores for a year it was the worst experience I 100% belive this person. Thier management is worse the pretend to be very nice before you get in once you are in they are very nasty. After refuse to sign a new lease and left they send me bill for almost 2000 for resurfacing the bathtub and repairs even through I paid all the rent on times. When I refuse to pay they send that bill to a collection agency when I asked for proof collection agency told me they are going to find it. But after few weeks collection agency reported to my credit. All this for nothing don't lose your credit, its not worth or renting from Regatta Shores
