If you truly want to know about this complex, heres the dirt

I was once a resident from 1997-1999 when my parents and I moved to florida. Let me tell you the real dirt on this place and why I tell everyone not to come back. I still frequently visit the complex to check its progress and the atmosphere and nothings really changed much. We moved here in October '97 and was a great place. All the good reviews that you read were the truth back then. Staff was great, helpful, practically bend over backwards to help residents. Community get together, movie nights you name it. Then in 1999 in March all heck broke loose. The management then formerly know as just United Dominion decided to change its structure. This meant new properties and changing managers from the newly acquired properties to the old ones. Which lead to most of the neighbors that have been acquired since then. For those who think Im racist, no Im a black female who is just stating what was the obvious and what I still see today. As the residents changed with the staff crime began. Our cars (not one but 2) stolen 3 times. Front door broken into, along with our neighbors. For the lady one the third floor, I sympathize, our upstairs neighbor at the time was always getting broken into and he was on the third floor. The gate they newly put in back then hadn't been in 2 months yet and people used to ram it or jump the sidewalk gate to get in. This even included the kids coming home from school. Yes people the blind midges are HORRIBLE! I remember the frequent runs myself making sure everything with an opening was covered, so it would not be polluted by the annoying creatures. The frequently breaking water heater that would flood the bedroom because the laundry room is right there including your closet. If you have the fireplace like us, by now you should hate to us them they always get cleaned only once a year or so and not that great. But I will stop for now as the list is too long to go on with, but even you people with the good reviews, you do know what I'm talking about even if it is only one thing that pertains to you. So in October of 1999 when the lease was up ,we left and bought a house in Deltona, to be closer to my dad's business. In July 2000 I moved on my own and decided maybe to give Regatta another chance. With those blinders that maybe it was just our bad luck. No once again the adventure in Regatta living began again. Yes I broke my lease after 7 months and got out. I moved to Altamonte then Winter Springs. Every year I play with the idea of moving back to Regatta and check it throughly. As usual I can get in the gate any time the same tricks the gate runners used back then still apply. Or how to pop it open when no ones there. So i can drive through and check the place at night. My friends have come back to live in the Sanford area and remember my old place from the late 90's as a great place to live until they see whats really going on and they move else where. So yes we all live in Heathrow or Winter Springs now. Even though my dad is getting older and wants me closer, I still vow not to move to Regatta. I feel sorry for you all and this reviewer truly understands your pain. Yes theirs plenty of good residents, but some times it does feel hard to tell when no one comes forward. For the people I see who like to comment on peoples reviews and don't know what their talking about. Grow up, live in that place yourself, get the real feel for the place, not just your rose tinted view because you were lucky. Or the jaded view because you just didn't like your neighbors, or whatever the case. Truly experience your complex, walk around some time, if you go to bed early stay up late once and a while and sit on your porch, in a sense be a little noisy. You will really know whats going on around you that way. Some times whats a great experience for others might not be for yourself or vice versa. Never just assume that because your away from the ghetto by 10 blocks the ghetto is not going to come to you. If you took the time to read this be well informed before you make your choice. If you live out of state, make sure to take time to visit where your moving to and really get to see the place if you have the time. If not find reviews like mine that will tell you the whole truth, even if it takes all 36 to compile it. To management staffs on these reviews, not just Regatta. Its not really necessary for you to even comment, you just make yourself and your staff look bad because most of you only hype your brochure or make school yard challenges that are truly pathetic. Even though it doesn't apply to all of you, but think before you write. To truly sell your complex be honest with yourself and it first. We are grown adults and bullies went out long ago. I hope that the reader of this review has maybe become aware of their complex may it be regatta or whatever. That you left with tips for your next move. I still love the old Regatta but it has gone with the wind. I'm finally moving back to the area gain before i move back out of state. I checked Regatta again today and myself still feels a no. Hopefully before this weekend is over I will find a decent place in Sanford or Lake Mary. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
