Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
absolutely hated this place. It was great for a bout the first 3 weeks when we moved in-until they started construction. Oh yes, management was nice-to your face. I have heard from others how they spoke behind your back though, when you were gone. As a stay at home mom I went up to take a walk- they were all taken by my 1 year old.
Then I would hear from others how they thought I was ridiculous dressing my child in dresses every day.
Also, there was favoritism going on, with whom they rented too. People renting the same apartment were getting breaks through the construction period, while those who started renting got nothing. We couldn't use our porches, storage unit all year-and had to put up with leering construction workers putting everything from holes into our walls and peeking in, to gutters through the windows. Saftey was an issue when one car was stolen right outside next to ours, cars were broken into, and ladders left by the construction workers were of great interest to children. a child was injured, and management yelled at that person that it was thier fault for touching the equiptment.
What was worse, was UPPER level management-the big shots in the office- would come out, and people would complain. We were told that they were corporate, diddnt ahve to deal with people like me. what..people unhappy with boxes piled against thier sliders for no place to put them, locked/screwed shut sliders- a saftey hazzard'
One of th blocks started a petition-and it was rudely responded too, that the people in that block were being childish, immature for thier legitimate complaints. Many who signed the paper were not renewed on thier leases at the end of the year.
A guy was found dead across the lake in 07, and one lady was interviewed. She never said "Regatta Shores was a dangerous place to live' she said, 'its getting hard to find a safe place it seems, to raise kids, as we don't know if this is an accident, or what'....well, the office badmouthed this woman profusely. I also know, that when her roomate left (the woman in question) favoritism was played to let her out of the lease is what I overheard, and a call to DCF made, to try and oust the woman. Though there was denial on managements part, I was in the office that day when the two plotted to make the call.
So much for office management not sticking thier nose into others business, or doing something wrong. OH, and the lights never worked-street lights, and half the stairwell lights.
I would never recommend this place at all. It might look pretty now with thier reonovations-but the bugs, the backstabbing favoritism of staff anytime you raise a fuss, and just the favoritism on rent alone, plus the other issues that went on- parking, gates, stairs falling apart despite 'new' construction,.. there are other places to rent that are lower in price but better conditions and caring people who run the place. My lease wasn't renewed as I complained a few times myself- as did many- and I had one late payment from an injury I recieved that put me in the hospital a few days. Couldn't get to the office on time. I rode by the other day, and a sign said- 'come see our new look'. Id like to post my own side- dont judge an apartment complex by it's facelift.
