My husband and I lived at Sanford Landing from October of 2000 until August of 2001. This was the worst place that I have ever seen! First off, it is just ugly all around. The complex is old and torn down looking and the landscaping stinks. The washers and dryers very rarely worked. Our apartment was a one bedroom/one bathroom. It was dark and dingy and smelled rank no matter how much or what you cleaned it with or how many candles you lit or air freshners you put in there. The cabinets, showers, and windows had mold all over them as well as down the sides of our bulidings. We never had to call maintenence, would have wanted to, they never came around anyway unless they liked you but we found out that they entered our apartment as they pleased because we would come home and either see things moved or could smell them. When we moved out they stole our shower head that we had bought and put on ourselves and our broom and vacum cleaner. As for the office staff, you were well taken care of if you were male and single. How do I know this' Because our uncle lived there as well and he was waited on hand and foot. He was given new carpet in the middle of his lease, new paint job, I believe also some kind of new appliance. His apartment was nice. Ours was a hole and not because we made it that way. They did. Our clothes actually smelled musty and so did our furniture from being in that apartment. We had someone try to break into our place one night and we think it was one of our psycho neighbors. That is another thing, we did not care for the people who lived there. They were either crazy, like the people above us who every night would be chopping something furiously, and no, it wasn't the rattling of a head board, it was loud, hard, chopping, pounding noises or they were all in your business. Someone who worked in the office and I cannot say who but she lived there and she spied on you all the time or had little friends, like our uncle unfortunately who became the complex narks and told on you for every little thing. Like we got a notice because we had our Christmas lights still up a week after Christmas or because one time we had a trash bag on our front porch, well, it had only been there for like 15 minutes, we had other bags to take to the trash but we still got a notice for it. Oh, yeah, and our doorknob fell off in the middle of the night one night when we came home, just fell right out of the door, so we had to go to Wal-Mart to buy a new one because we were not about to sleep in an open, unlocked, apartment. Calling maintenence would not have worked, they were never around or only were around when you didn't want them there or didn't know it. Then we when left they made us, PAY for their door knob, those cheap skates. There is stagnant water every where, snakes, ants, spiders. And yes, I know it is Florida but there are many apartments complexes who maintain these things just fine and Sanford Landing, even though claiming, they do pest control, isn't one of them. We were estatic when we moved out and would never go back there. Don't move there....these stories are true. Sandford Landing SUCKS!!!

Like you said, it's Florida. I'm a Vermonter moved here three years and love it. Don't live at Sanford Landing but I know it don't matter where you live in Florida you will have bugs, snakes and lizards galore. If you can't stand them move north. You won't have that problem.

Oooh! totallybent2004, you really put me in my place, didn't you? Jesus! It's just an apartment complex? Does it personally offend you that I said the apartment sucked? Maybe you work there or maybe you just need to find more important things on which to concentrate your time and energy than getting upset over an apartment review! LOL givemeluck, Yes, I am well aware of the bugs as I was born and raised in Florida. Funnily enough, I live in a four bedroom house and have no bug problems, because PEST CONTROL does work when used! Sandford Landing never did that which was exactly my point. And move North? NEVER!
