Alhambra has been sold to a developer that turned these units to condos sometime around 2004, now Vistas on Beneva. The units are still apartments. Originally built in the 70's. They made them look differant as far as changing the roof and putting on stucco etc., but the walls and the dwelling are the same. The units are noisy just like any "old" apartment. Most people way over payed the developer and can not get their money back out of them. The drainage when it rains is a river to Beneva. The units still have alot of mold in the walls. Most of the units poorly installed and cheap windows leak. The club house is locked due to a poorly run association. The current president "Ron Tarr" runs the place like he is a warrden. As you drive into the place look at how the structures of the building have almost a wrinkle effect inbetween the floors of the units. This is poor construction and a cover with stucco that simply will not last. In my unit the crown molding has gaps in it, the tile in the bathroom is one of the most poorly installed I have seen. When we bought this unit many people told me it will go up in value. This unit we might walk away from knowing that it will not even hold up to a 30 year loan. Quite honestly it could even be grounds for a class action suit for the homeowners once we can band together and stop the nonsense of harassing each other through the current association. My recomendation if anyone ever is thinking of purchasing these units, DO NOT!! renting these units you will be harassed, and not happy. There is so much better in Sarasota for around the prices that these units are honestly worth. This message is to anyone, ever driving by 1851 Beneva Rd. Keep Driving!!!

Just stumbled onto this posting after going to a meeting last night. The meeting was nothing more than our so called president rambling on about nothing. I am 41 years old and was being talked to by Ron Tarr as if I were a child. I to feel I way over payed for my unit in which is in shambles. Maybe we can all have our own meeting at some point, and use our facilities and talk.

Vistas on Beneva will always be the dump that it started out as. I remember when they so called remodeled it. OMG! A friend of mine bought in there after the remodel. When I went over to her house, she was telling me of rats, the crazy rulings they have in the complex, and how the buildings are falling apart. We went into the gym area and I saw a posting on a bulletin board for a rental. I would have considered it if I did not know about the place. She is also thinking about letting the unit go back to the bank. She will never get what she paid. I feel so sorry for her. Do yourself a favor and drive past this place.
