"Out of Stater" needs a reality check

To the person who is bashing the leasing agents for telling you that bugs and mold are inherent to Florida, you need to do some research before you pop off. I am a Florida native who has lived at La Venezia and numerous other apartment communities and houses throughout the state of Florida. In case you haven't noticed it is extremely humid in this state. Humidity causes mildew. That is the reason that you signed a "mold" addendum when you moved in. There are steps that you can take as a resident to assist in the prevention of mold. Also, palmetto bugs are their own type of bug, they are not roaches. Roaches don't fly. You moved to Florida like everyone else does, because you wanted to be somewhere warm. Florida is warm because it is a tropical state. Tropical climates have different issues from the north. I can't begin to tell you the number of people who move here and freak out the first time they see a palmetto bug. They think they have roaches, but they don't. Your flying "termite" infestation is most likely carpenter ants, which look a lot like termites. They also are prone to infestation in the state of Florida on an annual basis. I'm sorry that you are not happy living in the state of Florida, but your leasing agents are not money-grubbing liars. They have spoken the truth to you. LaVenezia is a lovely apartment community as shown by the other positive reviews. If you are that unhappy, I suggest you move out of the state, because no matter where you live you will see palmetto bugs, mildew and many other tropical bugs, etc.
