Our family relocated to Sarasota in August (the rainy season) and have not had any problems with the complex at all. Having lived in apartments all over the US I can say no place is perfect, anyone that moves somewhere without researching it first is asking to be disappointed. Florida like other states has its goods (warmth, ocean, etc) and its downsides (rain, extreme heat, expense, etc) but anywhere you go you will have this. I am glad to escape the tornados of Oklahoma, but yes we may face hurricanes, glad to get away from the air pollution of Philadelphia but will endure torential downpours of rain, glad to escape the crime of Oregon, but now I face a high higher cost of living so we can feel safer in our home. You take the good with the bad. We now live in one of the apartments that were torn apart because of mold and they have done a wonderful job of fixing all the problems that may have been here. The managment has been super, and go out of their way to ensure we are happy tenants and if something needs fixing it gets fixed! Ive lived in many apartments over my years, and by far they have the best maintenance crew Ive seen by far! The rent is compareable with others in the area, and they are in an excellent school district. My only advice is do your research, make sure Florida is what you want and that you can take the good with the bad, and make INFORMED decisions. LaVenezia may have had a mold problem in the past but from what I have seen they are taking the right steps to remedy this and are quite an upstanding luxury apartment complex with an impecable staff!
