Summit Heron's Run Apartments

I moved into one of the larger 1 bedroom apartments in mid-August of 2009 and I love it. Office staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. And the same goes for maintanance, they are all wonderful. The reason I decided to write this was because of maintenance. An hour ago I sent a maintenance request that my shower nob was broken and they have already been here to fix it. As far as the actual apartment complex goes, its not bad. The whole place is beautiful, the buildings are yellow, trim & roof is white, and we are sorrounded by trees and plants. With all of the plants and trees, there are a lot of bugs and critters running around, we actually ended up with a snake in our apartment, but maintenance took care of it immediately! We also have an ant problem thats still in the process of being taken care of (they just wont die!) and ive met the bug guy, he is also really good. They also just finished repaving the entire parking lot of the complex, I don't see why they did, but it looks great! Oh, I live on the first floor and I have quite the loud neighbor, but thats typical of living on the first floor! We call her "clunkers" because she likes to walk around in her high heels upstairs all the time! If you decide to live here, avoid parking under the trees at all times, you end up with leaves and crap all over your car! The place is close to everything, there are 2 publixs and 1 sweetbay within 2 miles. Not to mention the movie theater and downtown is less than 5 miles away. And when we moved in they gave us a welcome package with some toilet paper and stuff - I have never recieved that before! They are also pet friendly, so I get to leave my cat outside on the screened porch, and he loves it. The porch is actually really big, theres plenty of room out there. The layout is pretty good, I think the kitchen is a little small and there isn't a pantry, but thats an easy fix. Bathrooms are a good size, however the toilets are a little smaller than usual! Closet in the bedroom is a good size. One bad thing about the bedrooms in the larger one bedroom is that they have a sliding glass door to the patio which eats up a lot of wall space and makes it hard to keep the bedroom dark. All of the appliances work well, the AC is great, it keeps the place nice and cool! Carpets are a creamy color so they get dirty easly. The only thing that actually bothers me about the apartment is getting in and out of here. The only enterance there is goes out to Fruitville and if you want to head towards the highway you have to make a U-turn on Fruitville. And if your coming back to the apartments from downtown, you also have to pass the complex, go up maybe a 1/4 mile and make a U-turn. Getting out of here can be a real pain in the butt! I have used the gym and its pretty good, it does get really hot in there, but the equiptment works good. I haven't been to the pool yet, but everytime I walk by it, its always really clean and there aren't too many people. As far as the price goes, its really on the "cheap" side for Sarasota. There was only 1 place I found cheaper and it was in the ghetto, had 500 sq ft, and the floor was caving in. I would definately recommend this place, I guarantee you'll love it!
