The Tuscany Apartments used to be one of the nicest apartment complexes in Sarasota. That all changed when Merion Management took over.
The grounds are covered in dog feces. The dumpster is a health violation waiting to happen with kitty litter, maggots and garbage everywhere except in the dumpster.
The office staff is trained to lie at all costs to avoid spending any money.If you ask for the number of their main office, they claim they don't know the number.
This company does not manage the property, they merely collect rent.
The pool is constantly closed by the Health Department. There have been numerous break ins. The perpetrator was caught and evicted and then allowed to move back in with a friend. A restraining order was never taken out because "it takes too much time".
Merion Mgmt. also does not think they have to obey the law and they think the lease is only applicable to the tenant.
My lease says my water bill will be metered. Every month they break my lease by sending me a water bill based on the square footage of my apt. THey also charge more in service fees than the lease allows. In addition they send an exterminator around with a pass key, let him enter apartments, and no 24 hour notice is given. This is against the law.
The maintenance supervisor is a bigot and an anti semite and has called me a "stinking ---" to my face.
I could go on, but suffice to say, if you want to live in a nice clean complex with a management staff that cares about its tenants, you DO NOT WANT TO RENT AT THE TUSCANY.
If any tenant is unhappy with being lied to by the office and wants to go over their heads, here is the info that they won't give you.

You are a good liar, and that's about all!
Let me refute some of your "facts". If maintenance cleans the compactor area every day, why is there a pile of 100 bags or more every Saturday morining?
If you clean up any trash you see then why is the same bottle sitting on the sidewalk for a week or more? Why is the same bag of garbage in the bushes foor months at a time. And more impoertantly, why do your workers refuse to take initiative and pick up dog feces in the middle of the parking lot? I once asked your Maintanance Supervisor to pick up a big pile of dog feces and I was told "wait until it rains and it will wash away"!!
Are you kidding me? You call that service. That is ridiculous!!
The pools may be open now, but a while back they were closed for 1 solid month with a sign from the Board Of Health!! The pool was not closed for a month because of a sign or a clock so please stop insulting your tenant's intelligence with your nonsense!!
The water bill covers water, trash and sewer. So what? What does that have to do with the fact that you charge based on SQUARE FOOTAGE when my lease says it will be metered? What makes you think yopu can just change peoples leases? Leases are binding contracts. You are breaching hundreds of leases every month.
3 times the pest control guy entered my apartment with NO NOTIFICATION from you. You also send him around by himself. A member of the staff should be with him.
You couldn't manage a hot dog stand!! Try treating people with respect and stop insulting our intelligence with your ridiculous lies!!
