Please please please do not move here,
as others have said in the other comments, it is indeed like living in the ghetto here. I am awoken EVERY single morning at 7 am, INCLUDING weekends, by screaming, neglected children. There is constant noise overhead and outside. Skateboarding, loud car stereos are on just outside our lanai, with a booming bass, while they work on their cars. Screaming kids in breezeway, absent parents. There is absolutely no consideration for others here and the staff here absolutely does not give two ***** about anyone. The neighbors' kids in our building graffittied the breezeway with chalk TWO WEEKS ago and it has yet to be cleaned up. We have had to call the police twice, and on New Year's Eve, kids threw firecrackers at our door, and onto our welcome mat, burning it, so that we had to get another one.

The ant problem is very very bad. Yeah yeah it's Florida, but I know plenty of other people in town in apts who never see a bug! We're wiping away 100s of ants a day.

this place totally sucks. do not move here.

word of warning if you do make mistake of moving here:
DO NOT MOVE INTO BUILDING 22!!!
just 4 weeks before we're out of this hellhole. Ha! And I remember Maria saying to us when we took the place over internet--"You're going to LOVE it here."
It has ruined our experience--myself and my 70 year old mom--of our time in Sarasota.
