Camden at Palmer Ranch is a nice starting place to launch to a new home or to higher quality apartments. We lived at Camden for a year and a half, so they do offer varied leasing. But be aware that you must give 60 day notice upon vacating even when you no longer have a lease, or you will be billed for two months rent.
Camden is in walking distance to a huge mall (Sarasota Square Mall), a YMCA, and less than a mile to Target, K-Mart, Toys-R-Us, and large grocery stores, pizza, subs, and restaurants.
Camden Apartments does not have any security, lacks sufficient lighting, and reports of theft abound; lock it up and leave your bicycles in your apartment (we had our locked bicycles stolen the first week). Most people are from out-of-state, so you are very likely to have neighbors from all over the U.S. and abroad. It is a great place to start.
