Yo!

Noisy Nightmare

Highlights for Prospective Renters

Large apartments with nice appliances make this complex look attractive. Here is a look behind the scenes.

Stairwell - Terrible insulation and no door at the top of the stairs ensures sharing life with your neighbor. All arrivals, departures, conversations, barking dogs, kids, and party people are magnified in that stairwell. Added bonus is hearing all noise within the vicinity of the stairwell. Speak softly if you like a private life and plan to live in a loft apartment, otherwise your secrets will travel down the stairwell from your dining room, kitchen, and living room.

Doors - Doors are located in close proximity with no doorbells, so knocks or the knocker for the loft apartment are heard in both apartments. Note how the door to the loft apartment is located close to the downstairs windows. Smoking loft tenants banned outside by roommates are not the healthy type, so they will not wander far from their door which guarantees smoke through the downstairs door and windows.

Construction - We think it's wood frame and paper. We are experienced apartment dwellers and know there will be some noise associated living in close quarters, but this place is horrible. You will clearly hear all inside and outside noise; footsteps, voices, televisions, sound systems, animals, and kids scampering.

Several people have had problems with air conditioning, which includes leaking. We were entertained by a bubbling toilet during a visit with one tenant, a problem she has had for two months. Our bathroom and kitchen floor looks like it has bubbles.

Gutter spouts - Step out from the front door and look up. One spout pours a deluge of water your head. The lower one creates a giant puddle for you to step in.

View - The "lakes" are retention ponds that collect trash. Dead palm trees have been on the property for months.

Tenants-Not unusual to have four to five people with several pets living in one apartment. Watch out for the kids in the road, there is not much green space for them to play in.

Owner-Boulder Venture South LLC's owner,------------, is our landlord. He plans to construct more multi-family dwellings in this area. After experiencing the shoddy workmanship nightmare of this place we highly recommend steering clear of all his properties. Money, not the customer's comfort, seems to be his company's priority.
