I have lived here just shy of 2yrs. The maintnance staff is fabulous, prompt and professional. The office staff is quite the opposite. You can stand in the lobby for 20minutes before they acknowledge you. I know from personal experience. (If the staff reads these...I don't pay over $1000 a month to be put second to your personal phone conversations for 20minutes!) The grounds are clean, but the pool needs some serious attention. The tables are nasty, ashes and buds coat the cement, and the sides of the pool are slippery...not a clean slippery, more like scum. The kids here have NOTHING to do but ride their skateboards over speedbumps, kick soccer balls into cars and run around like crazy looneys. For as much as we pay out for rent, Calais Park can surely afford to put in a sand box, a play area, tennis courts..ANYTHING!!! Overall, it's not an awful place to live, but I feel we, the residents do not get our moneys worth. Personally, I plan on moving out. This seems to be an ever-growing trend here. More moveouts then moveins. Shop around, don't let the fancy apperance suck you in.

I can agree with the maintenance comment. They are prompt and professional. I totally disagree with the office staff making you wait. I am a resident here since August 2003 and I have never had a problem with having to wait for anyone to get off the phone except for when then dingy Karen was working here. Everyone in the office is very courteous whenever I go into the office, which by the way is 2 or 3 times a week because they are nice enough to let us residents use the fax machine and copier. As far as the kids go, I agree there should be a playground for the kids to play on but where would it go to make sure that it doesn't bother any residents that may sleep during the day because they work nights? Did you stop to think that kids will be kids whether there is a play area or not. You say there are more move outs than move ins, I disagree, I recently inquired about transferring to a bigger apartment and they told me I'd have to wait for something to come available in September because they were full. I think you got up on the wrong side of the bed when you wrote this. I love living here and will continue to live here for quite some time.

I also agree with the maintenance comment. Also I agree with the comment about the kids. I dont think its necessary to add a sand box or playground because as we all know that will be a noise nuisance no matter where its put. I think its more parents who dont care what their children do. I have had very few problems wtih the office staff i just think they all have snooty personalities. But i have come to realize that no matter where you go there will be problems and if the kids were no so unruly and didnt throw rocks or shoot BB's at people or into the pool it would be ok. Also parking is a hassle sometimes but its usually not too bad.

I recently looked at an apartment at Calais Park. I am not looking to move until September and they don't have any 1 bedrooms available but I did get to see a vacant one and thought it was very nice. Best I had seen out of the 8 I looked at that day. The only thing I do have to say is I dealt with the property manager and it was not a pleasant experience. I will not be renting there.
