There has been some crime in the area and in the complex. Cars being stolen; apartments being broken into. People being arrested for drugs. Yeah there was a drug bust there. Then a couple more problems police raided an apartment. The pool is always dirty and the best part is people that do not live there having parties till 4am in the pool and trashing it. The property manager does not do anything about it. The landscaping is cheap and the company they use is lazy. The apartments themselves were built cheap. You can hear your neighbors like they are in the same room. You can smell there cooking or if they smoke you can smell that coming into your apartment. Plus side. The maintenance staff is very nice. Just be careful though. The staff will do will say yes to everything to get you to move in. Make sure you get it in writing before hand or you will get screwed over. Overall it was okay; but then again i am sure living in the ghetto is better. Wait some parts of the complex look like it. I moved back to Brighton Bay instead. I couldn't handle the noise and hearing my neighbors do everything in their apartment. I mean EVERYTHING. That is how narrow the walls are. I had some nice neighbors but a lot of them were scary. Overall I was not happy and blame a lot of it on the property manager. She is too lazy and seems her co-workers try to pick up the slack of what she doesn't do. You can only do so much without your boss getting mad at you I would assume. I seen a lot of scary and interesting things going on there. Hot tub was always filler with bubbles or people having sex or beer bottles and chairs in the pool. Thanks to the high school and the kids near by.

Manager's Response |

| We currently have 242 Occupied Apartments. 219 of those have been here more than one year, which means 90% have renewed or continued beyond their initial terms. 34% of those have been here for more than 2 years! There probably isn't another community in St Pete that can boast about numbers like that. Our resident's satisfaction is something we are very proud of. The people that have posted negative ads on this site are doing so because they owe us money and have been sent to collections. Most of these postings are filled with slanderous allegations which are totally untrue. The only recourse we have as Management is to respond in a positive way. We invite you to come to our community and see the pages and pages of wonderful letters we have received from our happy residents. The writer of this posting was happy too, before he decided to terminate his lease early and move in with friends. He was one of those residents that were always coming by our office to chat with us. We made an extra effort to re-lease his apartment and were able to relieve him of almost 6 months of rent by leasing it within 7 days. He walked away saying he would send in the $381 he owed us, we waited for 7 weeks for him to make a payment, but we never heard from him again...until after the collection agency called him! Now he's creating wild stories about the community even though I agreed to give him 2 more months to pay the balance and withdrew the account from the collection agency. We're being fair....is he?? | |

Hi, it's Kari! All I can say is WOW, I am stunned by the number of lies in this entry. The only truth is that about two years ago there were two cars stolen. Not bad for 6 years of business. You won't find an apartment community, grocery store, mall, etc. that HASN'T had any. There has NEVER been an apartment break in. There has NEVER been a drug raid or so-called "bust". If you don't believe me, please check police records for the truth! Is there neighbor noise? Of course there's some...you're sharing a building with other people! Geez, thanks for the hurtful review. Apartment shoppers, please know that this is a gripe site for people who owe money...and are now bitter. This person LOVED living here...straight from his own lips!

Funny of these two responses from the management. The assumptions flying around is interesting. I do not know who they are assuming in response; However, we moved because of the situations in the complex and how unsafe we felt. Management never denies any of this information, but assumes it must of been another resident. You know what assume means people. To set the record straight. My family and I moved because of the noise, the thefts, and the promises never kept by management. We did not owe any money to the complex and we did not terminate our lease early. They must be having problems with other residents to have this kind of response of assuming. It is interesting to read this and their remarks. Do you honestly want to live in an apartment complex with make remarks like this with assumptions. This proves exactly what we meantioned to the management when our lease was up and decided not to renew. There are better places out there. The prime concern is the walls are thin and you can hear everything your neighbors do. We had an apartment upstairs and can hear everything next and below us. Apartment shoppers; please do your research and get everything in writing first, before signing anything. With this said, we never owed any money and we fulfilled our lease.

I am currently living in Calais park and have lived here for almost 2 years we are moving due to purchasing a house and I have not seen any of the negative stuff the person said on this review, I have lived in a lot of apartments through the 15 years of my apt living i can say Calais is one of the best if not the best place I've been in, if not for my new house i would have renewed and stayed longer. The office staff are always helpful and have no problems, I can say much on the pool part since we have only used it 1 time but when we used the pool, it was very clean. I see a lot of residents walking back and forth from the pool which tells me its not true what the review says. there is always a cop car resident park by the gate whic i think will be a big deterrent for drug operation. I am actually writing my lease non renewal letter and also thanking the staff for everything they helped us. maintenance request is also awesome, whenever i need something done its fixed right away. garage parking is the best feature of our apartment. Kari's been here ever since we moved in and like i said earlier we have not seen any of these things the review says
