I'm cutting my lease with Camden and applied for a new apartment somewhere else. I was approved but before I can move in, they have to call Camden to get some information from them. For a week they have called and faxed Camden but they refuse to give them any information. I cannot move into my new apartment till they do. I talked to the leasing office at the new apartment and the women there said once she did get a rep from camden on the phone that they were very rude and refused to give any information. Untill they get info from camden I cannot move in. My lease with camden is up tomorrow and i'm supposed to move into the new place tomorrow. I've had to put all my stuff in storage until i find somewhere else to go.
I even went down to the leasing office at camden and explained that I was moving out Friday and that the new apartment complex had to call them to get some information. The lady in the leasing office literally laughed in my face and said "there's noting we can do for you". I think someone is just a bit pissed that i'm leaving their ------ complex for a better one.
Unless camden calls the other apartment complex by tomorrow, i'll have no place to go. I'm not from around here, I moved down here because of my job. I can't afford to live out of a hotel right now. What camden is doing isn't right and it seems like they're just trying to ---- me over. :( bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC

Hey, i'm the one who originally posted this. I'm just now getting back to it, haha! To answer your question, I ended up moving back to Tampa with my parents because Camden never did give them any info, and then stuck me with a $2000 "bill" for "repairs" to the apartment, claiming holes in the wall, carpet stains, broken furnishings, etc... Which is ridiculous. I never even hung any pictures or put anything on the walls, so I know there were no holes what so ever. That was in 2006. It's almost 2009 and i'm STILL batteling with them. A few months ago I received a letter from them stating they'd accept $500 and be done with it. So I sent them a money order for $500. Just a few weeks ago I got another letter saying I still owed $1500 and it will be taken up with their attorney. BRING IT ON!
