The location of the Coves and the price per sq ft is what turned us on to this place. And a year later, those are the only pluses we've seen to living here! The staf doesn't seem to make much of an effort or know what's what half the time. When we walked into our unit on the day we were supposed to move in, we found that the other people had left all sorts of random items throughout the appartment, the carpets were filthy & the overall condition of the apartment was very poor. We contacted the front office & they told us they would get someone out to clean the carpets later in the day & to just hold off moving in until then! I asked her if she was going to pay our movers to just stand there while they waited for them to get the carpets cleaned & she asked me if I could just have them come back later! Obviously she hasn't spent much time in the real world! I told her that wasn't an option & she said that the carpet cleaners could just do the carpets while the movers were moving everything in. OH GREAT! An even better idea! We ended up not getting the carpets cleaned until a few days later because the carpet cleaners only come out one day a week & the maneger wouldn't pay extra for them to come out just to do our apartment that day. So, after we get moved in I realize that the A/C was having a very hard time cooling the place off, so I called the front office & they said they'd have maintenance come by and take a look at it. That was around 3 P.M. Later, right before the front office closed, I called back & asked them if they were going to be able to come by and fix the A/C since it had gone from 82 when I first called to 87 & it had been running non-stop. They told me that they didn't know if it would get fixed tonight becuase the maintenance guys already left for the day. I told her I had a newborn baby & that I didn't want her to be here getting that hot & her answer, instead of her calling maintenance, was to hang up, call back & let the answering system send me to the maintenance voice mail. I left 3 messages 30 minutes apart before they called me back & I was told that it just took a while for the A/C to cool down that big of a place. I told him it had gone up over 10 degrees in the last 4 hours & wasn't even blowing cold air. After a lot of grumbling & excuses he made his way over & filled the unit with freon. That made it cool off within an hour, but there is a leak in the system so we have to call them every month or so to come recharge the system & our electric bill goes up every time it starts to get low because the system will run forever trying to cool the apartment down.
OK, that's enough ranting. I'm sure you get the picture. Add to that noisy, noisy neighbors, dog poop EVERYWHERE, massive swarms of bugs, fights in the parking lots at all hours of the night, a pool that was closed by the the city (EPA or something) for not having ANY chlorine, LOUD car stereos all hours of the night, sprinkler systems that destroy you car's paint, and no place for children to play & you've got THE COVES!
We will be moving out of here AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
