Too much noise, trash bins attract raccoons From: Wings86 Date posted: 2/7/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007   My stay here was breif (4 months) but very painful. Neighbors were very loud and inconsiderate and management wasn't forceful enough in dealing with it. Upstairs neighbor would play on-line games in the middle of the night and scream and stomp his feet for long periods - at first I thought he was metally challeged but multiple calls to security were finally answered and toned things down a little but not enough. Other residents would play TV and stereos loud with windows open. Even the quiet residents were unfriendly. I would greet people outside but usually would not get a response. Most of the residents are young people as far as I could tell and perhaps didn't want any contact with a middle-aged person. I found it a very strange environment. The worse thing was they have a valet trash service in which everyone has a trash bin outside their door. You aren't supposed to put any trash in after pickup time or on the weekends but virtually no one follows this rule. In my building raccoons came every night to get trash out of the bins. They go all the way up the stairs to the third floor. The bins only have a flimsy hook to keep the lids down which the raccoons easily open. The noise is very loud when the lids slam shut. The raccoons have little fear of people. I chased them away many times but they came right back. I reported this to management but they took no action - I'm not sure they believed me despite trash everywhere. To add insult to injury they use a billing service for trash and water which adds a huge mark-up to the bill. Trash service should be included in the rent. I ended up terminating my lease due to a job change but had to pay rent until someone else rented the apartment. With all the problems I had they should have let me go free but would not. Finally the apartments have alarm systems but mine never worked and maintenance was not able to get it working. I didn't get any break on rent for this however. Stay away!
