i saw my apartment and signed my lease on july 2, 2002. it wasn't at all like the model i was shown a few days earlier but i was anxoius to get back to ohio to pack so i accepted it with the stipulation that the bathroom sink be replaced by the time i returned. it had been hand painted by the previous resident and was just ugly. i returned on july 15, all the lights were on along with the air and the sink hadnt been replaced. i requested that it be replaced several more times and six months later that sink is still in my bathroom. toward the end of july, on a friday night, my air conditioner quit working. i was told by maintanance that it couldnt be fixed until monday so i went without air for two days. in the middle of august i recieved a copy of a power bill dated june 25 through july 25 alomg with a threatening letter of eviction. the management office proceeded to tell me that if i didnt take care of this bill i would be asked to leave. the problem was resolved after i explained that i hadnt even moved in until the 15th of july. in the middle of october, on a thursday, the hot water heater went out. i called three times on friday, no one showed up to fix it. i called again on sat. morning. a maintanance man came and pushed a reset button which gave me hot water for about 2 hours. i called again on sun., no response from maintanance. i called again on monday morning. again someone showed up and hit a reset button which again gave me hot water for a few hours.i called again on tuesday morning and again somone showed up and hit the button. this time the maintanace man told me he'd be back on wed. morning to replace the hot water heater. it took exactly one week to fix the problem! on thanksgiving night my refridgerator started blowing out hot air. i called maintanance emergency, waited 45 minutes and called again. about an hour after the first time i called the maintanance man called back. he refused to come look at the fridge. he said that he could be here 2 hours and not even fix the problem. his advice to me was to "go to 7-11 and buy a bag of ice." the next morning he stopped by to fix it and was here not even 10 minutes before he was done. i was furious. i lost approximately $150 worth of groceries as well as all of my thanksgiving leftovers! i told the office manager, lori rice, i wanted to be compensated for my loss and she said there was nothing she could do without a reciept. the groceries, which were all bagged up, werent enough proof. i called the corporate office. she was no help, she stated that i should take partial responsibility because i didnt go buy a bag of ice like the maintanance man had suggested. she acted as though i was lying. she said that they never get many complaints. everytime i walk into that office there are people complaining, it seems to me that the problems are just ignored. please take this into consideration if you are looking into moving here, this is the worst living experience i've ever had!! g-hKOS7s4Nq5n3hEIpHd
