I lived here from August of 04 to May of 05. I moved in with my girlfriend after her roommate left her high and dry with all the bills. E.P. was going to let her move into a smaller apt, but she was going to have to sign a brand new lease and pay OVER $2500.00 to break her old lease, lose her security, pay her new security...
I understand it is an apartment and we will hear noises from the other apartments, but we heard 4th St from every room. Pool usually closes at a decent hour, but it didnt seem to stop people from using it till all hours of the night (loudly).
We regularly saw rats in the trees and gutters. I spoke with another resident at one time and her neighbor had to move back in with her parents because she had rats in her apartment. I guess management didnt do anything because the resident had to continue paying until the lease was up... I know it is a lease, but we are all human beings and noone should have to live like that. If the owners/management are that heartless then they shouldnt be in the business of working with people (charging my girlfriend $2500 to move out into another apt).
We bought a large pumpkin for Halloween and put it on our SCREEND PORCH right next to our door. It only lasted 2 days before someone walked on our porch and took it while we were sleeping. after that we had 4 other times that people actually put shopping karts ON our SCREENED PORCH... we even had an entire bed frame left on our screen porch.
Now for the fun stuff... around September the unit above us leaked down into our kitchen and warped our counter top. The counter top finally bowed and cracked open It mildewed and stunk REALLY bad, plus bugs would make their homes in it. We put in 6 complaints and each time they said the counter top was on order... well, when we moved out the counter was still not fixed.
If you are thinking about living here, be sure you ask to see a unit OTHER THEN the one they show everyone that comes in to view and apartment. That one is really nice, but the one they may give you could be pretty gross.
Hope this helps!!!

This sounds like a completely different complex than the one I live in. Are you sure you are talking about Emerald Pointe? I have had really good experiences with the apartment and my neighbors. I have seen 3 of my own and many of my neighbors apartments which were is great shape. I changed apartments twice...once to get off of 4th street (because of the noise) in the middle of my lease...and once to a smaller unit once my lease was expired. I was NEVER asked to pay prices like you are speaking of. Actually they lowered my deposit the second move because I always paid my rent on time. I got all of my deposit back from the old place too. Rats in the trees...They are called Squirrels (sometimes referred to as tree rats)!!!!! You seem to be somewhat prone to hyperbole.

Look, I know what a rat and a squirrel looks like. Perhaps you need to visit the area right off of 4th street. Maybe you dont make it to that area. If that is the area you live, then brother, you have some issues about thinking that place is nice. Everyone has different experiances with each place, thats what this site is for... to give prospect renters advice to try and help them along. In my personal opinion, I would like to see EP totally demolished and fire all of the office staff and start over from scratch. im glad to see that you are having a good time there, but that place made my life HELL the entire time I was there. I was never happy to be there and shutter at the fact every time I think about it. As for commenting on the way I write, please! What kind of jerk has to come on to a web site like this and talk about other people and their personal experiances? |

Megtgme, LOL, you must live in one of the "Emerald" apartments then, because mine is far from being as nice as you describe. Paint is chipping off the sink in the bathroom (it was patched before I moved in), and it is also chipping off in the bathtub. They promised to shampoo my carpets back in January, and it is March now. You should read the response I just posted under "stay away", and everything I stated is the absolute truth. The rent was just increased by $60 a month, so watch out when your lease expires buddy. I think the other person knows the difference between a rat and a squirrel. My husband and I have seen mice outside, but I cannot say I have seen a rat. They would not come into my apartment with cats anyway. The management never has done much here in the three years I have had the unfortunate experience of being a tenant. Just read my post and call me a liar. My claims are all TRUE. You have no right to call others a liar if you have not personally seen their apartments. The carpet is so cheap it is literally falling apart. The dishwasher is from the 1970's, and the air-conditioner causes a huge electric bill of over $200 a month. I owned a house and my electric bill was never close to that. Too bad I became disabled and lost my beautiful home... |
