Where do I start' Well lets pretend this is your first visit to the property. You will notice that the leasing office staff are very nice. Once they go over the specifics of what is required to rent from them, and you have picked a type of apartment you would like to see, they will start to show you the grounds. They will start with the leasing office itself, and I must admit it, it does look very nice. They will show you the pool located right outside the office, and probably show you their "baby", which is the "fitness room" (*notice how happy they are to show you this. they will be even happier to tell you the rules of use!).
Now you will get on a golf cart, and thy will take you to the type of unit you wish to rent. (*notice during this drive, that the point out certain 'features' of the ground, such as the car washing station, or the other pool. While you take all of this in, notice how fast they are trying to get through the parking lot *hint hint*).
Now you finally get to the apartment. Notice the fresh paint' Notice the freshly cleaned rug' Other than the outdated cabinets, this place seems pretty nice, dosent it'
Sign your lease. Get your unit keys. Get the pool and mailbox key. You say to yourself, this is great! Start moving your stuff in the unit! Can't wait to get that fridge stocked with goodies!
Now the first night sets in.....
Do you hear that' Yeah. That noise. What is it'
You walk into the kitchen, only to find roaches scampering around your kitchen. Notice that the cabinets are falling apart' And what's with all the loud noise outside' How can there be car loads of people outside at midnight with stereos turned to full volume' Is someone going to shut that car alarm off soon'
Maybe you'll fall asleep....

All in all, this place is the horse's behind. It comes off as a great place, and over the year we have lived here, its only been downhill. The maintenance people are nice, but they couldnt fix a wedge in thier pants with instuctions in hand. One time, they were trying to fix some sort of draining problem in another building, and wound up having to shut all the water off in 3 buildings because the messed up. Maybe if they spent more time fixing things rather than complaning about how someone wants something fixed, they would get stuff done.
The laundry room was trashed one night, someone flipped over all of the washers, unrinated in a few, broke all of the screens in the dryers, and the room smelled like crack (This is a true story, ask anyone who lived here at the time, if you can find someone who still does).
The complex is laden with drugs. Not just weed, but crack and probably heroine. The people down at the pool, proabably dont even belong to the complex. Punk little mouthy kids run all through here. If you have kids of your own, and want to bring up a proper crackhead, this place is for you. Parking is so-so, as long as you get home before the sun goes down. The parking lot is not well lit, and a can of mace or pepper spray would be a great idea for a lonely female walking thought there.
If you have ever wanted to be on that show COPS, this is one of there main studios this side of south saint petersburg. Thankfully we have not (yet) been the victims of a car or house break-in.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST
In closing, may I leave you with my own personal motto for this place'

I didnt hear about the washing machines but i did see the sewer main problem. i was without water all morning. I can honestly tell you unless you can afford to live in a gated community you will have to deal with this....i have lived in apartments all over saint pete and this is one of the better ones I have been in. the last one i was at my neighbor was shot right outside our apartment and our husband watched him die. The only time i have run into problems with another neighbor both Susan (property manager) and the community officer Ed were very nice and went above and beyond what was their responsibility. I like the fact that they just got new washers..some of the apartments i have been in you spend 20 bucks and nothing comes out clean or dry.... sorry folks unless you have alot of $$$$$ you will have to live with your financial peers and all middle/lower class are not nice. At least you have one other friendly neighbor! I have suggested to others on here to form a community watch. I am sure the office would be supportive. We are a community and should stand together!

Okay, so the first response is obviously someone who works for the complex. First off, not more than 24 hours after my post, your responding to defend that crap-hole. Unless you are jobless, then you are sitting in the leasing office watching apartmentratings.com to try and scam people into thinking that this is a livable environment. I have been out of that place for more than 2 months, and havent been happier. I have 300 more sq ft at the same $850/mo, and I am right on the water (check the area around fort Desoto park, you??????ll find really nice stuff). Your making it a point to name the people who work there. Susan the office manager is very nice, unless you have an issue that needs to be fixed. When she actually has to do something, she becomes irritated very easily, and is impossible to deal with. And this Ed guy you speak of is rarely ever seen, and if at all, its only during the day. The company can fire him now, because the Saint Petersburg Police and Pinellas Sherriff are showing up more and more often, so Ed is no longer needed unless he wants to actually do something about the problems. We tried to get phone service through Verizon, and come to find out, the building disconnects the phone jacks in attempt to provide more business for their personal BrightHouse Networks representative. We were told by the Verizon tech, that this happens a lot at that place. And the new washers and dryers are there for a reason, because the whole laundry room was trashed. Probably some of those kids that hang out and smoke pot at the bottom of the steps got high one night and thought it would be fun to ruin the place. If this is the one of the best places you have lived, Im guessing your second favorite was the holding cell at the police station. This place ??????was?????? halfway decent when we moved in (feb 2008), but when we moved out (feb 2009), I almost had to take out a ??????hobo stab insurance?????? policy. If you are not an employee of that place, than you must be one of the people who enjoys living with countless drug dealers and thieves. If you really enjoy living there, and really think its one of the best places to live, then maybe you??????re a great fit! Sure get the community involved in a ??????community watch??????, and see how quickly 50-Cent and Eminem become a huge problem for you. The place is filled with heartless criminals, who have no respect for anyone who lives there. Here??????s a better idea. Move into the TOPPS motel right next door! At least you can catch scabies and hepatitis at a lower price! Good luck with that place if your still there. Any potential renters to this place----- Please check http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/ to make sure that no sexual offenders have moved into that place. There are a lot of children that are left out to play unattended, and with a search of the general area, 15 offenders can be located within a mile (check the weblink for yourself). The property is surrounded by liquor store on 4th street, and is a constant problem with people ??????stopping by?????? to get high while parked in the lots. Emerald Pointe Apartments - Even Hell sounds like a better place!

I think you are being a little over dramatic. I do not work here and have had my share of issues with the air the complex is taking on. I have lived here for many years...not because I love it...not because I can not afford to move or because I don't think there is a better place. I grew up in a big city and know that the grass is not always greener geographically speaking. It is a convenient location! I have never had a problem with bugs except for maybe sugar ants--I got some poison from Home Depot (don't work there either) for $5, and golly gee whiz whala they are gone...when I see one I put a drop of poison and again it is months before I see them little suckers show up again--sure sure sure management/maintenance should take care of it, but instead of my whining and taking them away from real issues people are having I can do it myself... I will say that no matter how hard (I assume they try cause I see them in the morning when I leave for work)the staff tries to keep the complex clean they can not keep up with the slobs the managers/sales are renting too. Are they looking at past references for the folks they are moving in. The place IS getting worse and worse I will admit. I think they need to stop giving sooooo many deals to move people in and try weeding out the nomads that are just looking for a place to crash and don't give a crap for the place they live. Renting to quality peeps that want to call this their home at least for a little while will make all the difference. I think your home is what you make out of it. I will probably be moving soon if the quality of people moving in does not start getting better. I too am tired of feeling like I am in a ghetto. Happy moments, PRAISE GOD. Difficult moments, SEEK GOD. Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD. Painful moments, TRUST GOD. Every moment, THANK GOD.

i have to tell you i agree with the person that moved out this place sucks. i can get anything fixed and if they do come they fix it half ass. i want out of here so bad. the toilet doesnt work half the time and the noise is so bad youre lucky to get any sleep if you can get them over to fix something make sure you are there so nothing comes up missing that has happened to me twice

I never lived there but spent many night there as my boyfriend lived there. NASTY, GHETTO, BRATTY LOUDDDDDD KIDS EVERYWHERE IS ALLLL you will ever see from that place. The 6months he was there before he moved the air went out 7times and it took days to fix. The toilet was always clogged and yes I always feared for my safety when I was outside. We left the end of June when they got their NEW SECURITY the 2nd night on shift he went through our car and did who knows what and when confronted we denied everything when I had 2 different people tell me what happen. SO as far as living here PLEASE DONT DO IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO LIVE STRAIGHT UP IN THE GHETTO. Gang bangers allll over at all hours.. ohh and they allow pittbulls who about attacked my child one day so PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
