I lived at Flagler for a 6 month lease. I never had any problems and the staff was always nice. I was living here for a short while until my job transferred me. IF not, I would have stayed longer. WE were close to the water, close to downtown and it took me only a short drive to visit friends and family in Sarasota. I liked that there were four pools so if you wanted to take a nap or be undisturbed you could almost always find a pool to yourself. I had very few maintenance issues in my apartment but the ones I did have were addressed in a timely manner. They had several maintenance trainees while I was there and it was nice to see young people being given the opportunity to learn. I would recommend Flagler Pointe to anyone with good credit, rental references and who does not have a criminal background. THANK GOODNESS THEY DO THESE CHECKS AS 5 OTHER OF THEIR COMPETITORS DON'T!!!

I am not sure if there is new staff or not but my take on these comments is this... I wrote Roach Motel and I still stand by it. After all that I did for them they still tried to charge me $300 plus in "damage" fees when I moved out. I paid $225 non-refundable to have a pet and then an extra $20 a month on top of that for a year and a half. They wouldn't give me a new carpet because I had a pet (even though she was 5 and well beyond house-trained). Then, the first dog we had was killed 3 days after we got her and they still charged us! Then when we moved out they charged us to replace the carpet, even though we didn't get a new one like everyone else, we had to pay for the new tenants to have a new one. When the collection agency called for the money I told them what happened and how I told ------ I could make 3 payments on the total due, she sent me to collections anyway. The girl from collections empathized with me and said she'd heard of FP doing that before. I think that you should base your decision based on the majority of comments that are bad. Here's how I see it - I am an involved and concerned resident. If I am paying you rent, etc, I want to know what is going on and I want to be addressed in a timely fashion. I reckon that the people that didn't have a problem have their heads in the clouds. They are probably at work 8-5 when all the s### goes on so they don't see any of that stuff. My smoke alarm was broken for 6 months and ------ didn't care. I called and told her she said we'll be out there TODAY. 2 months after that (8 total) it's still broken. They want your money, they don't care about you if you care about your apartment. If just pay rent and keep your mouth shut they treat you good. It's the truth.

I think the person who wrote that load a crap about not having any problems with Flagler Point was an employee of Flagler Point. This is definitely not a place to move or raise a child. One of my neighbors moved because her daughter was abused by the neighborhood boys.

I agree with rentingsucksbutt, I still have not seen a security deposit and they even tried to charge me extra for "unspecified damages". I have since moved out of state so I wont see my deposit but at least I dont have to live here anymore!
