We moved in to Flagler Pointe this summer. Our apartment was not fully clean, especially the kitchen, which had to be scrubbed from top to bottom. The A/C also did not work. Management seemed upset that the apartment wasn't clean, but I'm not sure what good that will do. I have noticed high turnover in the office since moving here last summer. Maintenance came right out and charged the A/C, which was nice. However, the A/C has a slow leak and although maintenance comes right over when we call, our electric bill is high because the system is not usually working at peak efficiency. (4 calls to date since summer) Recently the AC quit working overnight and I had to show the maintenance people how to fix it. (engineer here) Overall our $599 special is costing more than a $700-800 apartment at a more well maintained property. Parking is very tight, and we often have to park a block away from our unit. Assigned parking has been promised but not delivered. Pools are nice and fairly well maintained. Living here is not bad and the location is great, but there are other properties that are better maintained and just as cost effective in the area. Security Booth on the way in is manned only about 3 days in 10. This has been increased recently due to some criminal activity (or so I've heard) (Security does not appear not a big complex priority) However, the complex does not appear to be dangerous most of the time. There are, from time to time, groups of scary looking young men congregating in the parking lots. Doesn't take a genius to see that they are looking for trouble to get into. On a positive note, trash seems to be picked up promptly and mostly before dumpsters are overflowing. New laundry machines have been installed. Nice but a little pricy. Don't always think I am getting my money's worth, but don't think I'm being taken to the cleaners either.
