I have been at IB for 3 years, for almost a year I had problems with the air-conditioning. I called the first time, they found that the inside unit had fallen off the wall in the closet. Their solution was to use 2 by 4's to jack it up, not looking into why it fell off. During the 6 months I dealt with them on this problem, the apartment was always hot, and the unit never turned off and cost me over $600 in additional electric costs. When I had black mold covering all the vents and the ceilings surrounding them, I convinced them that the problem was not corrected the first time. What happened is, they jacked up the unit but didn't re-connect the ducts leading from the unit. The closet that houses the unit needed to have the dry wall replaced, the rest of the problem was "painted" over with kilz. When I told them I was sure that there was mold growing in the walls and ceilings that they painted over, they did nothing. They did have the main ducts "blown" out. We all still have respiratory problems, we never recieved any rent deductions for this.

I also have a 20 year-old, chipped, scratched oven that runs at 500 degrees no matter what it is set at. My last complaint is that I called them Friday afternoon and told them the toilet won't flush. It is 10:20 on Monday night and I still haven't heard back from them.

I am sooooo out of here!!!

I totally agree, people who party all the time get drunk and run into the gates. Out of the time I was living there, a little less than a year, the gate worked maybe 15%of the time. And our air also broke. Their fix was a single window unit in the largest apartment they offer for a week untill they fixed our air.
