The exteriors are a bit dirty due to being right on the edge of a massive nature preserve (some residents put their garbage out too early and attract animals), but the interiors of the apartments are extremely nice and clean. Many of the apartments have been renovated. The area has easy access to nearby highways (I-275 and the Gandy bridge), and is about 2-3 minutes from a small commercial plaza and less than six minutes from major commercial venues. Still, the place is quite secluded from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world. It is also a quiet neighborhood. Parking has not been a problem for me.
Most of the tenants seem to be middle class, probably due to the cost of rent. Yes, the rent may seem high, but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a nice place, Inlet Bay is a very good deal for the money. I really cannot stress that enough.
Lastly, the management at Inlet Bay changed recently, and the new management has done a nice job. The maintenance crew is nice and responsive. They are willing to go out of their way to make things right.
Based on my experience, I would have no problem recommending Inlet Bay. I feel you get your money's worth (as far as renting goes), and the apartments look and feel new on the inside. My one and only significant complaint to this point would be that the exterior is dirty (mainly the stairwells). If you can get past this, the location is nice and the apartments are lovely.
