I enjoyed living here for about 2 months. The place is very good about pest control most of the time. I went in there to tell them that I had "palmetto" bugs and one of the ladies said that since I had only seen one I didn't have to worry. After living here for close to two years I know that the one bug is just a warning for several more to follow. The general maintenance guys, Al and Frank, are great and very friendly. If you have an issue other than the basics like your wall falling apart in the bathroom because of the mold growing on its interior, then plan on it not getting fixed for awhile. Also plan on the apartments contracted maintenance guy trying to fix stuff at five o'clock at night. And yes he does have a key, but the management is gone for the night. He actually walked into my house while I was showering! The final repairs to the gapping mold infested hole in the wall, caulking around the splash guard and sink, and general clean-up was completed by my boyfriend because the contractor never came back to finish the job. I recommended two people to live here and only got the money for one person. Evidently the other check got lost somewhere and the management stated that it was my problem not theirs. The gate is usually broken. It got the point where I just thought I lived in an un-gated community and was surprised when the gate actually worked. In the summer months my chest would hurt from the abundance of mold in the apartment. My sub-floor underneath my washer and dryer rotted which lead to my washer sinking into it. When I moved out my washer tore the vinyl flooring and I was forced to pay for it. At one time I had two cars, trying to get the second remote for the other car was like pulling teeth. Also when moving out, they only reimbursed me for one of the remotes. Your pet "deposit" you pay when moving in is not a deposit at all. The management is rude and runs the apartment complex more like their personal play ground and not your place of residence. The management discourages kids, not openly of course, but they discriminate in an attempt to keep a particular age base as occupants.
Bottom Line: The place is mold infested, rudest management team that I have ever encountered, severely overpriced, very small old apartments with initial charm and big headaches later (figuratively and literally), poor maintenance, and NOT kid friendly.

I completely agree with this mold and non-kid friendly commemt. The carpets feel damp even with the air on.

I maybe changing my mind about this place. I noticed the rental rates are going up. This place must suck like the place I am at now.

Yeah well next time someone in the office discriminates in a round about way, tell them that you know the fair housing laws and that you will contact the Bay Area apartment association on them! See how quick they'll change their tune! They cannot tell you what building you should move into because there are, or are not any children living it! That's called "steering" and it is 100% against the laws of fair housing to "steer" anyone like that! The Isles of Gateway is not an adult ( 55 ) or a senior ( 62 ) communtiy....anyone who has any proof that they discriminate against people residing there with children should defiantely have them called out on it!

Well after what I thought was going to be a great place I am moving out after a year and wish it could have been sooner. I agree on all of these items. The mold is gross, the maintenance follow up is lousy (although the guys are nice), and promises made to me when I moved in were not kept. They are overpriced for what you get. The renovations are not all that great. Keep looking
