We moved into LS in 1997 and it was a great place to live. However, over the last few years, it has gone down the tubes. Most of what these negative reviews say are true: noise problem (that the management won't fix), trash everywhere, bugs, crappy appliances, non-existant office staff. Considering how much you pay for rent, you must be able to get a better deal somewhere else. There is nothing positive I can say about living there.
For us, the worst problem was the noise. Our window litterally shook from the stereo below us, but all LS would say is "we'll talk to them." It got to the point that I couldn't sleep at night. Then, the people downstairs moved out, and a new couple moved it. But they too played their tv and stereo loudly - they figured out the LS staff wouldn't do anything about the noise problem.
Also, there was a serious mold problem in our apartment's vents. We asked them to clean the vents, and they sent someone over to "clean" them. How they cleaned them was to spray bleach up at the vents (which meant spraying some of our stuff that was near/below the vents) and then wipe the outside of the vents off. This is indicitive of the quality of the LS staff - do as little as possible.
