2 notifications of shootings in the neighborhood which we were notified about and my friends car was broken into. Given that, I lived there for 3 years and always felt safe. The staff was always polite and quick to help. The noise was minimal, mostly loud car stereos driving by. I never had any problems.

Well it is sort of rude to impugn the person's intelligence, however, I wonder why you posted after you left given that you are out of touch with what is happening. The abduction was all over the local news and I was living there when it took place...I didn't know about it until it hit the news. The shootings I learned about from neighbors and only after rumors spread was there a circular from the management ("feel safe, it was isolated, we're doing everything to make sure this doesn't happen. When in reality I think they did nothing and I'm not sure there was much they could do). I was reasonably comfortable living there. Grounds were nicely kept, apartments not well repaired, in fact sloppy repairs. Rent for what you got in space was good. Staff left a lot to be desired--when all is well, they are bright and cheery, when things are not, they can be in denial, be untrustworthy and downright nasty. I was never late on rent and so I can't comment how they are in that respect. I do think that their choices in renewal gifts reflected a rather low class attitude and would have been happy to do without rather than be given a box of vending machine candy, cookies and a can of coke. The one time I had a real complaint--about a child who thought it was okay to jump off the bed onto the floor above my ground floor apartment and who three screaming and kicking tantrums daily--the office was of no assistance, but was quick to send me a complaint when I began to play the stereo loudly to drown out the noise. I think I'm still picking popcorn ceiling paint out of my hair from that 3 month prolonged incident--expect no help for problems like that. I never had my car vandalized, but observed other cars that clearly had their windows broken intentionally and other damage that looked like somebody went on a vandalism spree. Not sure what the building could have done about this issue, except that more often than not the front gate wasn't working---its the wrong security device for such a busy complex anyway. Needs a guard at the gate, real time cameras that photograph tags some other devices in addition to an automatic gate that allows virtually anybody to get in. Delivery guys never even had to call my apartment because it was either not working or they could just get in behind another vehicle. The pools are not policed an on occasion I observed people walk in off the street to us the pool closest to me-near the fitness room. Of course during weekends when the open office never seemed to answer the phone--I always ended up leaving messages that rarely go returned. I left to buy a house because at the rental rate and annual increase it was cheaper to do so. Overall I would say my stay there was fair, but also reasonably comfortable. The daily annoyances of apartment life finally got to me. Some of that was probably also from the quality of tenants the office rented to--but they also have to keep their vacancy rate down. It was just time for me to go.

let's recap here, you lived here 2005-2008 and you decided to write a review in 2009? Reports of two shootings, yet you still felt safe? (not to mention the abduction which took place in 2008 all over the news) doesn't sound like you're the brightest bulb in the box

Wow, so sweet. Needed the address, happened to be on the site so thought I'd leave the comment. Didn't hear about the abduction, not in the area anymore. And yes, I did feel safe. I'm sure there are multiple crimes in your neighborhood which you never hear of, at least we were informed.

why are people trash talking someones perspective??? If that person felt safe, then they did. Who is anyone to tell them different. If you have a different perspective then rate the apartments, not the raters! Not to mention I find it funny people trash talk and then do it anonymously. Why? If you cant show people who is demeaning them then keep your thoughts to your self.

By the way, the "abduction" was a domestic dispute. A man kidnapped his girlfriend after a dispute. That can happen anywhere! http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/article467252.ece - Content Resident
