Disabled resident From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/15/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007   After having read all the reviews,I wanted to post mine.My husband and I moved here in September of 2005 to be close to my job.At the time the only available apartment was an upstairs unit,so we took it.On Feb 24,2006,my husband became very ill and had to be taken to the hospital.The fire department did some damage to the apartment in order to get my husband out over the upstairs balcony,due to his size.When I arrived home that night,the maintenance crew had repaired the damage.When I asked to be moved to a downstairs unit in anticipation of him no longer being able to climb the stairs,the office staff gladly assisted.When the insurance provided a motorized scooter,the maintenance department came right out and installed a ramp before the scooter was delivered.Every time I have called the maintenance staff,they have responded promptly.I have always found the maintenance and office staff always friendly and ready to assist in whatever I have needed.I have never had any problems with my neighbors.I rarely ever even hear them.The section we live in are folks just like me,plain old working class folks.The apartments were built in the 1970's,but the staff does a good job maintaining them.I have looked periodically,just for curiousity, online at other complexes in the area and I think this is definitely the best bang for the buck.Other units in other complexes with a lot less square footage are substantially more money.I love the location as you are close to Tampa,St Pete and Clearwater.I like the fact that the community is gated and I have never been afraid to stay here,even at times by myself.I have experienced problems with bugs at times,but the exterminator has always been very willing to do whatever it took to get rid of the problem.Let's face it,if you live in Florida,there will always be bugs.(Maybe some people need to keep their apartments cleaner if they are having continued problems).I just wanted to say some good things about the meadows after reading so many negative comments.I am now working on the other side of Tampa,but I am willing to commute rather than move because both my husband and myself are so happy here that I'm afraid another complex may be a big disappointment.
